Food stock at the store was quite low, especially canned goods... and I have a gas powered generator that’ll keep the freezer and microwave working for a little while. And a full tank of gas in a spare car I can siphon as needed. Let’s just hope it doesn’t come to that...

Damn it @rdpoe... now you’ve got me leaning towards the 6112s. Mostly because of the cost difference and all the reviews I’ve been reading.

Compared to the Fox 2.5 front coil overs (no reservoir) and rear 2.0 remote reservoir shocks, I can save $500-$600 buying a 6112/5160 setup.

I agree with you 100% that remote reservoir front coils (Fox/ADS/King) are way overkill for my truck and I know everyone says “buy once, cry once” but I don’t know if I can justify spending $2k+ on a suspension. My only concern with the Billies are the lift height and how that impacts ride quality. I’ll need the springs on the 4th notch at least and even though people claim they soak up bumps with ease, I’m a tad worried about them ending up too stiff... the real question is whether the larger shock diameter and matched springs are gonna be more “comfortable” than the 5100s I have now.

    Ugh, stupid suspension...

I went back and forth. A lot. Honestly, the only reason I talked myself into ADS was lack of availability of the billies when I was buying.

Again, I'm super happy with my ADS but my brother's 3rd gen on 6112/5160 with basically his whole life packed in his truck rode superbly.

What setting does he have the spring perch on? And how much lift did he get?

Obviously third gen compared to second gen will be different but I’ve been reading mixed reviews about lift height people are seeing on each notch.

Also, if I go this route I’d buy them already assembled and wouldn’t want to mess with changing the notch. Given how hard it seems to be to find a spring compressor that fits between the coils and can actually compress them.

Just checked with him, he doesn't remember, haha! Sorry, that's not much help. He thinks he got about 2" but isnt sure what setting.

Edit, he thinks he did 4/5.

Sounds about right. And yeah, the third gens seem to favor setting the two sides differently to fight the lean.

I’m leaning towards 4th notch and I’ve got my top plate spacers if needed.

This is such a tough call... I know my 5100s are getting worn out but they’ve treated me well over the last 3+ years. And $1200 sounds so much better than $1800 (Fox 2.5 IFP) or $2300 (Fox 2.5 remote reservoir).

If you've had good luck and like Billies....stick with the brand and upgrade. Its cheaper and better. I have no qualms with being loyal to a brand that delivered on their product.

HAHAHA. I can see what I can do, but if they are too deep, you're looking at a wrap or paint job.

What would you charge for just a full exterior detail? Wash, clay bar, polish, etc.

And not on the truck. It’s a convertible. My grandma left it to my dad and the paint has probably never been touched...

I hope y’all are all being smart, listening and following posted state guidelines.

I admit I was NOT a believer of the viral concern early on but this Caronavirus stuff is serious.

A teacher at my daughter’s school, their test results came back positive today (March 19th) and was announced by the district superintendent.

Please, everyone keep close, stay home or self distance as directed to minimize spread.

Our local teacher had no indications they had the virus or were possibly spreading it until the teacher got ill this past Sunday - after being around young students last week.

I don’t share much about this topic, but I prepare - for lots of possibilities and I’m concerned and on high alert.

Please stay safe and don’t be stupid.

I’m fully expecting the governor of Ohio to shut down daycare centers tomorrow...

And as much as it’s an inconvenience having one (and potentially two) kids at home while I’m trying to work, I’m with you. Things are getting pretty serious out there. The virus is going to continue to spread and until it peaks and new cases start to decline each day, our “normal” lives are going to be interrupted.

Hopefully we can do enough to “flatten the curve” and get through it without too many fatalities, but it’s gonna be a bumpy ride for a bit.

Also, there are more rumors floating around about a national lock down... this time they’re saying the president will announce it on Sunday. I heard it from someone in the National Guard this time.

National Lockdown or not...people just need to realize this is serious.
