Ripped off all four mudflaps. Scratches all down both sides 6112’s up front on 3rd notch 5100’s in back with Toytech 1” block Skids & sliders from SOS Concepts I got rid of the 1” block and put on Wheelers 1 1/2” progressive AAL. SPC UCA. Be sure your standing on the drivers side when reading the instructions! I swapped sides so many times that I can swap UCA’s in 15 minutes. I put in the 3/4” spacer to eliminate the Taco Lean, and just got my 4th alignment. Traded the OEM rims for 17” Sport rims and a bora bora 1” spacer. I got my Firestone 285/70/17 MT2’s. Pelfreybilt gas tank skid and hi-lift jack should be here Friday. Looking at bumpers, but I think they will wait for next year. So far I’m happy with my build. I’ve done it all myself, leading to a lot of cussing and frustration, but it’s all mine.
Your not old enough for that yet.

I have what is probably a stupid question.
Is there a big difference in the brands of coil springs?
    Has anyone tried that brand?
    Thanks

Red River Gorge, Daniel Boone Forest and Clifty Falls opening back up on June 3rd. Campgrounds aren't scheduled until June 11th.

Hopefully this rain chills out a bit and things can dry out for a nice first ride of the summer

What about restrooms at those campgrounds? I want to head cross country, and the public restrooms are my question, open or not, safe or not.

Sounds like developed campgrounds won't be open until June 11th, at the earliest. I haven't seen information on restrooms, assume it's in line with campgrounds

So, never having messed with leaf springs before... I need some help. What’s the easiest way for me to remove the overload leaf from my current setup?

Do I need to unbolt and remove the entire pack to do it or can I just remove the U bolts and center pin while using use a C clamp or two to hold the rest of the pack together (leaving it bolted to the frame at both ends) and remove the overload that way? I guess I’m just unsure of how much tension is on the pack with the rear of the truck on jack stands.

I think you jack up slightly on axle, undo U bolts, then let that down, then undo the ends.

Hang the new pack on shackles, then jack back up, new U bolts. Done.

EDIT: I dont think I answered your question. Not sure on certain leafs.

I have the stock 3+1 pack with a 3 leaf AAL. I’m just removing the overload leaf to help soften up the harsh rear ride.

The AAL clamps have been riding on the overload leaf (there’s an indentation on both sides from the metal rivet in the clamp) so I bought a 1/2” flat shim to replace the overload. Should keep my ride height about the same and allow the full pack to flex without hitting anything.

I just didn’t know if I’d need to remove the entire pack from the truck to swap the overload for the shim. I don’t think I’ll need to if I remove the U bolts and use a jack to raise and lower the rear axle.
