It hasn’t yet... life got in the way and the truck has been neglected for a bit. I’m kid free this weekend and am hopeful to get started on it. Would be nice to be driving it again.

Ripped off all four mudflaps. Scratches all down both sides 6112’s up front on 3rd notch 5100’s in back with Toytech 1” block Skids & sliders from SOS Concepts I got rid of the 1” block and put on Wheelers 1 1/2” progressive AAL. SPC UCA. Be sure your standing on the drivers side when reading the instructions! I swapped sides so many times that I can swap UCA’s in 15 minutes. I put in the 3/4” spacer to eliminate the Taco Lean, and just got my 4th alignment. Traded the OEM rims for 17” Sport rims and a bora bora 1” spacer. I got my Firestone 285/70/17 MT2’s. Pelfreybilt gas tank skid and hi-lift jack should be here Friday. Looking at bumpers, but I think they will wait for next year. So far I’m happy with my build. I’ve done it all myself, leading to a lot of cussing and frustration, but it’s all mine.
    Understand life,,,,,
I’ve decided I don’t envy you for taking it on. I’ve been feeling strange things in my steering wheel but now hoping ball joints are the culprit.

So, I thought that too. And in the last year or so I’ve had my LCAs replaced (new bushings and lower ball joints), inner and outer tie rods and I installed SPC UCAs. And unfortunately for me, the steering feel didn’t really improve with any of those...

I wasn’t planning on swapping the rack, but when I saw power steering fluid leaking out both ends I figured it was only a matter of time before it fails completely. So yeah, we’ll see how it goes. Thankfully I have an extra car to drive right now so I can take my time. I’m planning to remove the front coilovers (replacing those too) and disconnect the tie rod ends this weekend. From there I’ll have to hope I can get the rack separated from the steering shaft, loosen both bolts (hopefully without cutting) and then start the process of fighting it out.

Dang! I assume you've been greasing them regular like?

When I put them on mine, I got new bushings and BJs from Wheeler's I think, or maybe Low Range. @beertimecontinuum told me I needed the rebuild

It does seem odd, but at least it’s a U.S. based seller.

I’d like to think I do better maintenance,,, but I can really only remember greasing them twice. I’m going to cut the boot off when I get them back and see if I can tell if that was the problem.

    it probably is.

Welcome! There's a good group between myself, central KY, and the Cincy area. Quite a few more we gather with from TN as well. Handful of IN folk too.

Nah, we handle everything on the forum. The TW FB page is eye cancer and I feel blood vessels explode regularly. Worse than a Friday in the 3rd Gen sub-forum, every day.

Far as groups or clubs; SFWDA, Kentucky Krawlers, and ORFW actually make a difference in the wheeling community and hobby.
    https://www.sfwda.org/
    https://www.sfwda.org/orfw
    https://www.sfwda.org/kentucky-krawlers

All 3 have Facebook pages, the 2 clubs have membership req's, where SFWDA does not. I want to join Krawlers, but they meet on weekday evenings nowhere near me.

I think the TLCA and Zombie crawlers (jeeps) have replaced the Kentucky Krawlers.

@rdpoe has delt with the KY TLCA quite a bit I think. They are definitely way more structured trail rides/trail boss/theres a guy "in charge" than a TW meat.
