Pretty sure the frame kink came from when I was heading to camp or back to the group when I realized I was very low on fuel, we had stopped at the playground that afternoon. Brian and I were bombing to and from, and I took a hard hit/drop at one point.
Bedside was definitely from the recovery efforts for Steven.
It's a 2.7 and I gave her all the beans!! :) Had to buy a new synthetic line afterwards...

I’m down here at the gorge now. Small storm passed up a little east. Im down on Indian creek and creek is normal and soil not too muddy. Another storm looks like it’s gonna pass me later too. So all should be ok. I’ll update tomorrow. Headed back to camp.

You guys sticking with mild to moderate trails or more technical? I'm with 2 Jeepers and we're all looking for moderate, nothing that's going to inflict body damage for mid travel rigs. I'll PM my cell #, looks like your GPS coordinates are 25 mins from our cabin. We'll meet you if you don't mind 3 more.

Anyone ever had issues with their brake fluid or master cylinder?

Did the T4R front brake upgrade about three years ago, with a full fluid flush and very recently when the temps get high (90+) the brake pedal is starting to feel super soft. Like almost has to go to the floor to stop the truck soft. No fluid leaks anywhere and pads should be good (~30k miles on them). The fluid is a very dark brown color versus clear so I’m sure it’s due for a change but I’m worried the master cylinder might be failing…

@09TRDSport4x4 sounds like it's time for the tundra master cylinder upgrade. I recently did it and it got rid of the spongy feeling and crazy amount of travel needed just to start braking.

If I had kept the truck, that would have been my next move. But instead, I’d had enough. Sold it yesterday to Kings Chrysler Dodge Jeep for just under $15k. Could have fixed it and easily sold it for a few grand more private party, but I just don’t have time/energy/patience to mess with it right now. That and after calling around, having the master cylinder replaced by a shop would have cost me close to $1k.

Anyway, I bit the bullet and leased a new VW, despite the high costs right now. I’ll trade the new monthly payment for zero stress or worry about things randomly wearing out or breaking, full warranty and 2x miles per gallon.

I’ll have a list of Tacoma parts and random accessories for sale on the cheap here in the next few days or week. Going to clean out the garage and basement of all the stuff I either removed or never got around to installing, some of it you early 2nd Gen guys might find useful.

Thanks to everyone in the Tacoma community for the help and advice over the last 8 years. It’s been one of the best vehicles I’ve ever owned and I’m sure I’ll miss it, but for now, onto new adventures.
