I think he'll be fine. The guy that was at the LBL meet with a 3G pro also had a bunch of extra weight (had the full rack/RTT setup) and got through everything no issues iirc. If I remember my conversation with him correctly, he was still running the stock suspension as well, and the Fox setup on the Pro is pretty good.

@tacofort Myself and @Lt_Dan did fine at LBL with then-stock 3g Offroads. We both got hung up in a few spots but nothing a friendly tug from a trail buddy couldn't get us out of.

I'll see if I can get contact info. Houses in the valley can be pretty iffy. The wife and I live up on the hill off hunt. Older neighborhood but it's nice and quiet

    LBL.jpg
i'm sure we can find pictures of this somewhere...
you should be fine as long as you don't bring a trailer. i was stock ^ then and didn't get stuck
as of now... my wife has to work that sunday, so we won't make it down until really late.... i mean early monday morning. 1-2am probably. i have a ok radio for what it is. 300watt magnet antenna with just a handheld midland. i never have any problems hearing others, or others hearing me. but i don't know what the range is

i'll keep you updated if she can get off that day or not

Idk about that spot, looks like someone is trying to work on the land. I've been past there a couple times this week and there's multiple cars there and looks like dirt is moving around. I'd still be game to go somewhere else and drop a worm

    Part 1. Cause it's long.

    The story goes...

One 2015 mid-December day I left my house (which we had recently bought, on a short sale, important later) for work. The field behind our house was still a field.

I returned home that day, to find said field, now a mud pit with construction equipment in it.

And I'm not talking off in the distance. I measured. It was 50 ft. from my back door to the back fence. A 3 ft. easement. Then their parking lot started. The actual atrocity (building) was less than 100 ft. from my back door.

Naturally I walked over to the site when I first got home and started asking questions. Said they were building a Dollar General. Jesus fucking Christ. Fantastic.

The day I came home and saw their foundation layout is the day I went ape shit. Less than 100 ft. from the back of the house. Unreal. How the fuck can corporations be allowed to barge right into a residential backyard. Dollar General said fuck you. The city of Columbus said fuck you. Columbus Building and Zoning said fuck you.

The abyss once again, only got deeper from there. Once you looked at the foundation, you could tell they were about to just give a big giant middle finger to my house, especially.

Now, this new DG was being built on a rather large field, big enough it was split into 2 lots. On the corner is a Speedway. So, if you were driving by, you'd pass, on the left, a speedway. A large field, then a housing complex. DG decided to go ahead and take the lot most shoved up into the housing complex and right in everyone's backyards.

As they are laying foundation, it’s quite clear where they intend to have their loading dock. No no no, not on the side with the empty field, that would make too much sense. So, they instead thought it would be better to place their loading dock between the store and everyone's house. aka: THERE IS GOING TO BE FUCKING SEMI'S PULLING UP 50 FEET FROM MY HOUSE AND SITTING AND IDLING AND BEING LOUD AND ANNOYING AS FUCK.

Then a bit of brain short circuiting happened and I went off the deep end.

Learning of the loading dock was probably the major catalyst that led to my mental state and the ensuing war for the next 6 months.

Yes. It took 6 months to build and finally open a rinky dink little Dollar General store. A sheet metal building with shelves in it. I made it take 6 months to build, tehehehe.

I spent probably a week thinking up ways I (and my wife) could become the biggest pain the ass I possibly could, legally. She took the good cop role; I took the bad cop role. She emailed Columbus building and zoning, Ohio health dept. Anyone she could to try and get something, anything, done. I took to calling DG customer service line and going on profanity laden tirades with the CSR people who liked to hang up, then I could call them back and go right back into the same tirade.

Realizing, my role was unsustainable for very long, I had to find a better weapon. (I would later come to find out that DG had been in contact with the Columbus Police Dept. /Prosecutors office about my phone calls and wanting to press any kind of criminal charge they possibly could, but, again, I am smart. It only turns into phone harassment or anything greater with threats, once you start making threats, then they can get you, I NEVER once made a threat, I just bitched, and called them all kinds of names. I got on the internet and found all DG CEO's emails and emailed them all. Every. Single. Day.

    Then the epiphany came.

    MUSIC.

    ??? You say.

The plan became to blast the actual crew(s) building the store with music. All day. Every day. My sister watched my kids at my house. There was and still is someone in my house 24/7. So I enlisted the ranks of my sister. Music can have one hell of a psychological effect; the psychological warfare was all I could do legally. And that’s exactly what it was. Psychological Warfare. How much could I wear these motherfuckers down with horrible music? How much could I make them hate having to come work on this site every day knowing what was waiting for them. How insane could I drive 6 grown men? We was gonna find out!!

She (my sister) had a 3 ft. stereo speaker. She brought it over. I set it up at the back fence. It was loud enough to drown out anything else. And I used their bullshit store location against them. It created a massive echo chamber between the store and the houses once they started putting metal siding up. It was glorious. The reverb was amazing, made it ring. Every now and then I would even put the speaker in a 2nd bedroom window and blast it out the window, the echo from the 2nd floor was ungodly. Ungodly. It was totally fucking amazing. And awesome.

The first day I used it was a Saturday. I played "It's a small world". Only. On Repeat. The ENTIRE day. The speaker was by far, the best weapon I could have ever used. I could passively aggressively blast them all day, not break any noise laws, and drive them absolutely nuts all fucking day. I moved on from IASW constantly and went to teeny bop music, cause what construction worker wants to listen to Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus all fucking day? Every day, they got a full dose of it. My sister would set the speaker up and turn it on when they showed up and I would continue the torture when I got off work. Skrillex’s Ragga Bomb became a favorite of mine to play as well as Miley’s Wrecking Ball. The effect, again, was obvious. The entire crew would walk around with shoulders slumped. They would look over at my house and shake their heads. I would get flipped off, a lot.

Me and the foreman got into a screaming match that first day/evening of IASW he was so frustrated by the music. I dared them to work Sunday. He said "Oh, I'll be here." Said Sunday was my 7 year old daughter’s birthday get together at my house. They came. They worked. I played the same shit as I did the day before. The effect was palpable. Their body language said so.

Oh, and working on a Sunday, my daughter’s birthday party day was the absolute final straw. Smoke fizzled out from that short circuit in the brain.

It was now personal. But all I could do was play my music and bide my time. For the time being.

Soon after they started raising the building, my chance at payback for Sunday came. This crew (Rhino Construction out of Michigan) really hated OHSA regulations. Specifically, they really hated safety harnesses. They liked to use their scissor lift rails as ladders, climb on the rails, hang over the rails and use the rails to reach higher areas, all with no safety harnesses on. Foreman likes to use a boom lift with no harness. They liked to hang over perlins on their stomach with no harness, which they reached by climbing on the lift rails.

One nice sunny afternoon I went out with my camera phone and took 60 photos depicting their entire crew committing OSHA safety harness regulation violations. This was a Saturday I did this. That evening I got on the OSHA website. I sent in a whistleblower email basically. I said "I have 5 dozen photos of this crew brazenly violating OSHA regulations". I never really expected much of it, gov't after all.

Shit you not I got a call THAT Monday from an OSHA rep inquiring about my email. Flat out asked him "You want my pics" and he goes "Hold on to those, someone will contact you" and I was like Holy Shit!! Someone did contact me wanting my pics, THE VERY NEXT DAY!! A more local OSHA rep is who contacted me the following day on Tuesday. Got his email and oh so happily sent him 60 photos of those assholes breaking all kinds of regulations.

A few weeks went by and I honestly had forgotten about the OSHA stuff, cause again, gov’t. But then, at the end of February I got an 8x11 manila envelope in the mail with a Dept. of Labor logo in the corner.

A large envelope from the Dept. of Labor, WTF is this???? So I opened it.

And I pulled out a good little pile of papers, from OSHA, stating all the findings from their investigation of the DG construction site.

All in all they got hit with 7 violations. Totaling $11,000 in fines. Most for the safety harness violations. Also 1 for no GFCI on their generator and no safety glasses while using a grinder.

DG thought I was cute and nobody to worry about.

Until an ELEVEN THOUSAND DOLLAR FINE FROM OSHA ROLLED IN. Courtesy of me.

After that, I started seeing cops at my door.

I had a “community liaison” police officer try and contact me several times. All he wanted to do was basically tell me to shut the fuck up, so I ignored the fuck outta him. I wasn’t breaking a SINGLE law, he can fuck off. Found out a lot of info through him, cause by the things he said it was clear DG had been in contact with Columbus Officials.

Next I found out about the DG calls to the Columbus Prosecutors office trying to pin something on me. Anything. DG wasn’t calling the CPOs office to chit chat cause their fucking friends. DG called with one specific topic in mind.

    ME.

    To Be Continued.

It's not over, by a long shot. Lot more to go. Not even to where I mowed my grass in red brief undies and boots.

It was winter. Everyone's windows were shut and I kept the speaker as close to the back fence as possible. As close to them, and as far from the houses as I could get it obviously. It did finally become an issue in the spring. But, that's all in due story tellin'.

I learned one thing though. People LOVE their fucking TV. No one heard it in the winter cause they all turn their goddamn TVs up so fucking loud, they couldn't hear shit with closed windows and TV volume on 40.
