Ongoing saga of repairs and finding reasons for mods.

Found a bent alignment tap. Suspected it was due to a frozen bolt (which it was).

Ordered new alignment cam bolts, lca bushings, and total chaos cam gussets to fix it all.

Tried to press out the old lca bushing with a 12 ton Jack and map torch. No luck. My truck had some serious undercoating, which maybe is contributing to the stuck bushing.

My goal is to do most of the things that will require an alignment so I can get it out of the way: UCA, 877, LCA, alignment cam gussets.

Welcome to mods, where one bolt turns into a 12 hour ordeal for no good reason other than "because fuck you, that's why".

    We're glad to have you

    What Josh said. 100000000000000000000% truth.

But this undercoating you speak of. Makes me wonder the meaning of life when it comes time to lift my friend's truck. His has a coating on ALL THE THINGS and looks like it'll be real fun...

It usually can be taken care of with a wire brush on a drill. But it also seems like it traps rust in making it fuse into one solid block. I've generally been able to apply extra torque and break things free, but it's generally a pain.

Braided brake lines...I want a complete set and am too lazy to search right now.

Where is the best place to order?

Also, looking for 5 wheels to mount MT tires on for my weekend off road adventures if anyone knows of a set. Will pay cash.

I think @HeadStrong Off-Road has braided extendo lines.

    They do: $121 shipped https://www.headstrongoffroad.com/s...gth_Rear_Brake_Lines_(PAIR)_-_05__Tacoma.html

The lines I purchased from wheelers were/are supposed to be +4 over stock, but who knows. I’ll have to check into that. Right now my stock are doing fine, but I haven’t flexed them out with the new leaf pack.

I thought I saw some cheaper, extended sets from Summit, I think they were Stoptech brand, for under $50 bucks.

Now, take that with a grain of salt, because I don't know nuthin' 'bout braided brake lines. Or even if Stoptech is a good brand.

Decent brand. Pretty sure my pads or rotors are StopTech/PowerStop. Easily confused for me
