Anyone know the status of the fires in the gorge? Haven't seen anything since they made the news

I second this question. Haven’t taken the truck off road much but I do happen to be free the weekend of the 16th...

When we were last there, it was so dry and dusty and loose, traction may have been harder to come by than when it's wet and tacky. Cave Run was damn near white out conditions from the dust. Hope the rains helped that some.

You should be fine without lockers. Armor is a plus (sliders, skids) and 33s are def a plus.

I agree about it being really dry and dusty. My bro and I had to space out pretty far when were were driving

Funny you ask, I actually looked around for some but didn't have any luck!

Yeah, we camped there for one night. The Kudzu is still advancing but no tick issues this time.

    I had the same thoughts....

We made a few dozen water crossings....then drove in dust. It would build up. Then another water crossing....more dust...ect....

By the time we left, there was several inches of build up under the truck. So much so, the truck sat noticeably lower. 45+ years of playing in the dirt, and this was without question the toughest clean up I can ever remember.

Also clogged engine and cabin air filters.

There were a few moments where the dust wasn't much fun. We had a great group that day though. Made up for negatives.

    Beats rain...barely....

Retirement is GREAT! Wish I coulda started it about age 30...
