Citrus WMA Florida Clean Up

I got a buddy that may or may not show up later on if he feels like it.

 

You guys have fun tomorrow and pick up some trash for me. Sorry I'm not going to be able to make it.

 

Heading out now, should be there around 1030. Don't wait on me, we will be starting from the south side of the park and zigzagging our way up. We will probably call a quits around 3, if we are closer to Tills Hill we will dump the trash at the drop off and take a picture for whoever to submit to the rangers

4 full bags of shit, 1 spare tire, 1 car battery someone lit on fire, a plastic Easter egg, and a very angry bug that got stuck in one of the closed bags and was trying to fly out. All in all, good day.

 

Had a great time, in 5 hours we were able to hit all of Trail 22 and Trail 18A, most of Trail 15 and half of Trail 20. 6 bags and Ryan broke his trans skid in a deep mud hole (The one that ate @Taco No Baka)

 

Dayum, it was just Frank, Ryan, and Ryan? Broken into 2 groups? Who both started on the south end? Shiste, I was hoping for a bit better turn out. Now I really feel bad for not being able to go. But hey, 9 bags of trash and a pile of other debris is that much less than it started with. Good job, guys, and thanks for helping to keep our recreation areas trash free.

 

Still haven't washed my truck yet, had a huge project to do. But it was a great day and glad I came.
The run through that hole Is gonna cost me $450 for new skids.

 

I feel your pain, Brah. Where the damaged ones the factory skids? And what kind ya gettin' to replace them?

Oh. Okay. I'm not really a huge fan of their front skid. It has some design issues that seem like it would leave you vulnerable. For instance, it leaves the bottom corners of your radiator exposed and it also does nothing to protect your LCA mounts (going by the pictures, it also appears to hang down about an inch or so lower than necessary which kills your ground clearance). Bud Built makes a much better skid, IMHO, and this is coming from someone that likes 4xI products usually.

FYI the skid in the picture is not the Tacoma skid.

 

This was one i was looking at too. They're about the same price.

 

About the only thing the 4xI has going for it is that it's made from 1/4" steel, so it's definitely a stout skid that you'd be very unlikely to damage here in FL. If they just made the front face of it a bit wider to completely cover the bottom of the radiator, it'd just be a question of whether you want the strength over the ground clearance.

The Bud Built may only be made of 3/16" steel, but it's a much better design that protects your critical components better and it fits up tighter to the bottom of the truck to give you better ground clearance.

 

That's true, I'd rather have coverage over thickness since I won't really be using it for rock crawling

 

You might. There is Hardrock ORV park in Ocala. It's not exactly hardcore crawling, but it will give your armor some degree of punishment. It is a fun place though.

 

Speaking of hard rock when are you coming back up @Taco No Baka

 

No time soon, I guess, with the issues I'm dealing with. I think I'm pretty much done for the summer, even if I do get the OGT squared away. It's getting too damn .
