Good to know. You think a large C-clamp will suffice with the cups?

i couldn't find a C-Clamp that had an end that i could use with an impact and ratchet...

i used an impact to get the old one out, then ratchet to slowly press in the new one...if it starts to get crooked, slowly press it back out...it'll straighten out before popping out all the way, then continue to press it in...

I have about 20k on my balls. I'm not sure how to tell if they are worn

excessive noise is the first indication...if you remove them from the spindle and grab onto them, they should be tight...if there is play in them, you should look into replacing them...

with my camburgs, i had both go within 1 1/2 years and had one go on my TC LCAs go within a year (both cases ~35-40,000 miles)

i was able to grab onto them with my hand and move them back and forth within the mount. the TC lower actually had some of the teflon come out on the bottom leaving a lot of room in there for play..

Hey @ckeene9 I'll be doing my partial engine cage soon at DTF. About two weeks and a half from today! Keep your eyes peeled. I'll be posting pics after I get it done.

I gave Pat from TC a call and he said the balls can go up to 50k depending on environment and use. He said exactly what you did on checking them as well. The rebuild kits aren't too expensive either. I'm going to take a look at mine since I'll have a coilovers off this weekend anyway.

exactly...environment and use dependent...i put my equipment through a lot of dry desert UT backcountry and tend to see some water, mud and dry dirt roads in the CO backcountry...so mine are more likely to age faster...

those on the east coast driving in the salty winter or on the beach a lot will also see faster aging most likely...
