Yeah, I'm ready for them... You might come home and find your front end on blocks.
Good so far, 2 wheeling trips and 5K miles and don't look too shabby. Just rotated them this morning.
Only slightly pretty compared to your setup.

How are your Dakars holding up? Any sagging? did you do the AAL? I'm stuck between Dakars and Expos.

I'm pretty happy with them. I'm sure they've sagged but I don't have a good way to measure with chopped up fenders. No AAL at the moment but will most likely add it when I switch the front over to Icons with 700# coils.

Given the choice again, I would probably just grab the expos though.

I was thinking about the expos, but I also want to do the ATO shackle flip. I'm concerned the combination will create too much rake. I hate rake, I like my truck to sit level. Only reason I'm looking at heavier duty leaf packs is to offset the weight of the shell and the Pelfrey hi-clearance rear bumper with swingout. Other than that I don't carry much weight other than the occasional camping trip or run to home depot. I'm wondering if the Dakars are up for the job since I don't really want more than 3 inches of lift. Do yours handle the weight of the shell and the rear bumper well? Is the rear of your truck sagging lower than the front? Thanks for the info. Also I have the Icons with 700# coils and they ride great, love them.

Sag is hardly noticeable if at all when I'm loaded down with gear for a trip. Only time I really noticed sag was when I was towing. With that being said, I have saggy 886 coils up front so I'm probably only around 2.5" of lift.

There's a couple local guys running the flip and expos and with 0 to maybe a little rake. They also have the icons and 700#.

Hey dude. I've been day dreaming a lot lately about a rear bumper with swing out tire carrier I'm my truck. Just curious how much does it suck opening the carrier arm everytime ya wanna get in the bed? And you can't even open the cap window right? I came up with an idea to problem solve at least opening the cap window without opening the swing arm. Just will have to pitch it to a builder. Just curious with your actual day to day experience with the swing arm and getting in the bed. Thanx

I don't mind it unless you get your ass end buried on an obstacle and need to get to the recovery gear that's in there :anonymous:

    But I also don't DD it so I don't have day-to-day experience.

The swingout isn't too bad to deal with day to day, unless you are dropping the tailgate daily, which I don't really do. The only issue I've run into is if you park backed up to another car or wall, and then you need to drop the tailgate...I usually just pull forward far enough to open the swingout if I need to.

Gotchya. Yea my concerns are def as a daily driver. I'm just considering options to allow the cap window to open real quick to drop something in our pull something out. I think 50% of the time going into the bed I don't drop the tail gate. I guess this is a dd issue, like grocery bags and even after a trip to Home Depot I pop the back window open and toss in what I bought.

    Agreed! Looks rocky! :D

I'll chime in here...I DD my truck and the swing out isn't bad. But then again I do have a shorty swing arm for that reason. I can open my swing out basically anywhere I could open my tail gate.
