I have a short bed so a clamshell would have to sit high over the cab, where a flip over kind could ride lower than the can on the rack. Looking for opinions, clamshell easier set up, but worried about wind noise

both the clamshells and standard flip style tents are great, clam shells are nice and easy to setup, slim and tough against trees and bushes on the trails, but not great for someone over 6ft-ish because your head or feet get crammed in the wedge sometimes, where a standard tent would have more than enough length for a taller person.
Standard tents only take about 2.5 mins to completely setup and the Extended tents have annex options which is awesome in bad weather to keep your things dry, have a place to hang out and change clothes, or have friends and family stay down below the ladder with plenty of space for cots and sleeping bags
