I have a 3" pro comp lift. Ive put about 5k miles on it since it's been installed. Here is the problem. When I drive over a speed bump, or hit a bump or small pot hole on the road, or even when making the transition from the street to a driveway, I here a clank and a squeak coming from the front suspension. After checking every thing out it seems to be coming from the front shocks. A friend of mine said I need new bushings. With the shock stem being so long he said to put two bushings on each side. He's a Chevy guy so I take what he says with a grain of salt. (haha) I'm not bashing Chevy, I grew up with Chevys. "I'm just saying". If anyone has any suggestions they will be appreciated. Thanks.

your shocks are probably bottoming out on the down travel on the bumps, happened with my old lift

I don't think that's it because I don't think I'm bottoming out hitting a driveway. If I bounce the front end it squeaks and I can here a faint clank or clunk. Thanks for the reply.

I had the EXACT same problem. Squeaks and rattles when hitting any sort of bump, coming from the front driver shock. Turns out, they put the washers and bushings inside the strut backwards from the factory. A bushing had gone out and a washer was busted. I got new bushings and washers, had them put in and no trouble since.

Heres what the washer looked like after it got busted and worn out:

Check your swaybar. Mine was hitting a front shock. I have the procomp lift and mine was just touching on the drivers side. I got the toytec sway bar relocation kit and it moved it out an inch. Problem solved.

Would it also make the front end skweek? If I shake the front wheels back and forth I hear a skweek sound from the shock area.

YES! It squeaked like crazy. Get under the truck and push up and down on side where you hear the squeaking ( to make the shock assembly move up and down). If you hear it, i'd check out the nut that screws down on the top of the strut and see if it's screwed down all the way and if everything seems tight. You could actually feel the washer under the nut on my truck and make it rattle.

If your getting lots of squeeking, check your tie rods- outer. Mine went last month. See if there is grease leaking out.

I have the same kinda noise coming from my truck (minus the squeaking), its like a clank.clunk kinda sound when I hit bumps. I have Icon coilovers and ucas. I've checked and everything seems to be tight and solid. Not too sure what the noise is coming from...

Did you/they ever figure out what that front end noise was? I just installed OME 886 and an ARB bumper and am having the same type noise. It bugs the crap out of me. Mine almost sounds like the front suspension is bottoming out on the down travel.
