Clank sound when brake applied

anyone have a clank noise when applying the brakes after shifting into reverse and again when shifting back into drive? 2011 DCSB TRD off-road

 

I do. I always thought it was something wrong with my LT. Subbed to hear what someone has to say.
Mine is 08 Long bed prerunner v6

 

Brake pads hitting the calipers, when you replace the pads it will stop for a little while and then it'll come back again after some wear.
Nothing you can do.

 

Yes it's the brake pads shifting in the calipers and it's normal.

I have the same issue, I just chalked it up to fun noises my truck makes, just figured it was the brakes engaging/disengaging.

 

I think there was a thread where some people added extra springs to hold pads out better. Was that for this brake clap or something else?

 

Yeah, same here, I pulled mine apart and cleaned them and lubed them but it just came back, nothing to worry about just another noise to ignore.

 

It's the play in the pins that the pads ride on, if you knock the pins out and go heavy on the silicone brake grease on the pin it stops it until your next pad job. When the pins are dry as a bone they start making that shifting noise.
