Agree. Read the fine print. Might want to weigh if plan is by a 3rd party that can go out of business. I had it on my Audi (they scare you about $400 tires and $600 rims). But they are not a charity and must be making profit off this somehow. I cancelled and got my $ back. Reason: 3rd party I did not trust. Fine print also stated they had the right to refund your $ and cancell the policy at any time. So put in a $1k claim and they may just give you your $499 back.

I roll the dice and play "moneyball" I never buy any extra insurance on anything. In the end. I think I am up.

$788 of slight of hand rip off.

Kinda like insuring your toupee with Lloyd's of London.

You know, in case it comes off when you are in a swimming pool full of friends who are unaware you are folically challenged.

I would say the Tire & Wheel plan would be a good one to add on for the reasons others have stated (see above ^). The 1st one doesn't sound familiar to me... check out https://toyotafinancial.com/pub/w/planning_center/vehicle_protection_plans#! for the add-on plans offered 'officially' by Toyota.
However, the etching is almost a moot point because, if your vehicle is ever stolen, you'd be giving your local PD the VIN and other related info anyway.

I thought the OP was talking about the purchase of a new 3rd Gen Taco. I mean, he did post this in the 3rd Gen forum...

The post I'd responded to was about tire and wheel warranties, I cited an example where it's paid off even using it honestly.

Did you really need that spelled out for you, or are you just being pedantic?

I was just agreeing with you on the tires & wheels... The security thing is not something I've seen Toyota offer (except in the form of LoJack), that's all. You don't have to be rude. I saw nothing about funcar, sorry.

Apparently I completely misunderstood your post; it had seemed you were being rude and I replied rudely in turn.

    I apologize for that.

    We good?
