I will start out this thread by stating that "I know this is a Tacoma Forum, but my question is about a Suzuki Grand Vatara".
My daughter-in-law has a 2006 Grand Vitara that she bought used about 2 years ago. When she bought the SUV, she was never given any of the radio codes. Apparently, there is a built in anti-theft feature on the Clarion radio. From the factory, there is no security code entered, so the first person that owned her SUV must have entered their own code and never passed it on to the dealership. Once the battery is disconnected, you must re-enter the code to re-activate the radio. We recently had to remove and replace the battery, and the radio is now useless. It is asking for the security code, which we were never given.
From what I have read online, there are some "master" codes that can be entered that will over-ride the security codes. We have contacted the dealership and Clarion with no help so far. We could send the radio back to Clarion for a factory reset, but it will cost around $100 and the radio would be gone for 2 months. So I'm trying to get any help at all, to get her radio back to working condition. The serial and model numbers of the radio are shown in the below pictures. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.

The ones that are in some of the Suzukis do. It even gives directions on how to set your own anti-theft code in the owners manual.
