Nope. I interviewed for a parts job there a few years ago but it wasn't enough $$. I do computer crap now, completely out of the auto service game.

Appreciate your work on this OP. So far so good here. But given the risk, could happen at any time. Any updates?

You know this is an old thread correct.Given the age of trucks,Toyota will never do a recall.

Just discovered Cy #6 Misfire head gasket leak. '05 4.0 Taco 230K miles. This seems to be inevitability rather than probability. Leak has been for some time prob around 200K. Lots of highway driving so ran ok for awhile.

My 97 runner had a recall on the head gasket about 25k miles in. Toyota fixed that. Lasted until I sold it at 200k.
There is a precedent on Toyota's lousy head gaskets. My 86 Celica's head gasket died also. 1500.00 to fix.

Status..... Toyota has done everything in their power to out spend me. They have. Last $4k or so I spent, was to make sure that the proper filings where made so that it stays open with no statute of limitations.

    Preservation of prescription.

Worst comes to worst, If, if nothing else, if they bankrupt me, or I decide I can not physically do anymore, I'll just hand everything over to the media and the Attorney General.

...minimally... Proof of colusion between the head of LMVC Lessie House and attorneys for Toyota dealerships... Omissions from legal docs...

Shit, that you or me or any of us would be picked up by the local police in 5 minutes and sent to prison.

Sorry to be a bit late to this thread, but it appears my 2005 Tacoma V6 is also a victim of the faulty head gasket issue. In my case, the truck is always garaged and I've babied it for it's life of 110k mi so far (I'm the original owner). Like others, I too suspect I've had the issue for some time and just now realizing why. It's a bit surprising Toyota realized the problem, corrected the head gasket composition in the mid-2006 production cycle, and failed to make good on replacing the faulty part for affected vehicles. For the cost of these trucks when new (mine was North of $30k), a class-action suit seems appropriate given that Toyota quietly made a fix without disclosure.

By the way, as much as I hate asking, has anyone tried using a head gasket sealant in the cooling system (like Bar's Leak or K-Seal) in the 4.0L GR-FE V6 engine with any success?
