This is the first time I’ve ever tried a clay bar kit. This stuff really works and works well. There was all kinds of junk stuck to lower sides of my doors. Absolutely wouldn’t come off when washing. Clay bars took it off. Had to work it a little on the bad spots, but got about 95% of the crap off. Cleaned the clear coat up really well. Truck looks nice and glassy now after waxing it.

I was a little paranoid at first. Just seems like it would damage the paint rubbing something like that on the clear coat. But it worked. The kit I bought came with the meguiars quick detailer spray as the lubricant.

Worst you do with a clay bar is create some swirls in the paint. Nothing that cannot be polished out.

I clay all of my cars once a year. It really helps the paint keep its luster and smooth feeling by removing the containments that build up over the year. Usually I clay my vehicles after the winter since I don't get to wash them much because of the cold salty east coast winters. My taco is my daily and I did have a CS2 Titanium coating applied not to long after I bought the truck. With this regiment when I do wash the truck it cleans up real quick and I have essentially no swirl marks or scratches.

The first time I used clay was about 10 or 15 years ago on a car that sat next to railroad tracks, the paint was so full of rail dust that it felt like sandpaper, it was amazingly smooth afterwards, awesome stuff!

Clay bars are awesome car cleaning products, I just started using 3m clay and it's been pulling even more up then the meguiars or chemical guys stuff, does cost a bit more but it works great, gotta clay bar and polish mine when the rain stops, it's been raining for weeks now, unfortunately no garage otherwise it would have been done while ago.

I have read that the Super White is not Clear Coated that it is painted another way. I have never used a clay bar before. For those of you that have would you recommend using the clay bar on the Super White?

I doubt they are single stage painted but I am not familiar with Toyotas white paint process however you can clay bar single stage paint still, lots of lubrication helps, I have clay barred a white Scion (made a huge difference btw) but again not sure how Toyota does their whites. Either way you can't hurt it too bad other then micro swirls from nit folding the clay which can be removed by polishing.

I read on here that they mix the Clear Coat in with the White.

Interesting, that would be single stage paint, I'll have to ask the body shop at my dealer about that, now I'm just curious, you can clay bar though, always good to remove contaminates from the paint.

Mothers makes a synthetic "clay bar" that works great. It has a nice grip on it and is a hell of a lot easier to use than real clay

Yes, you can use clay on super white. I use it on our white 4Runner. Doesn’t matter if paint is clear coated or not. You are correct the white and clear are mixed together.

I clay my super white truck 1-2 times per year.

You can clay any painted surface. You can also (and should) clay your glass and plastic light lenses.
