Well finally pulled the trigger and just got my Clazzio's! They look nice but definitely don't smell like leather. I know the inserts are supposed to be leather but mine smell like the PVC. I also saw on the box "LeatherType"
Have you guys smelled actual leather scent from yours?

Honestly, mine just smells like new car. I've got a "real leather" Yukon and a "MB Tex" Benz and frankly I don't notice the difference in the way they smell. Most cars aren't fully leather anyway including my wife's Yukon.

Had mine 1.25 years. Never had a true leather smell. Did not buy them for the smell anyway. Do they taste like real leather. I don't know. I didn't buy them for the taste either. They do feel like leather. When you slide on them they sound like leather. So they look, feel and sound like leather. They meet my criteria. Greatest mod for the money regardless of the smell. Maybe they need to put a scratch-and-sniff on their web site.

I was more concerned that I accidentally received the full PVC kit. Enjoy eating your leather man.

Seriously you are correct. They had an odd scent to them. More like a pvc smell. It goes away after they breathe for a while. My cars with factory leather and the leather scent faded away in time too. Could be a treatment they put on before shipping but is def not a leather smell.

ordered triple black leather a couple of days ago. Trying to figure out if I want to go with heat. Anyone buy the chinese made seat heaters off ebay? And what switches work the best?

Finally had a chance to install my all black @Clazzio seat covers! They look amazing with the rest of the interior and my BBP truck. They look like OEM and really change the look of the interior and are a huge step up in comfort when compared to the cloth seats.

    A few tips:
    • If there are any smears/splatters on them out of the box, it's likely machine oil from the manufacturer. It took me a few hours to get it all off unfortunately. I used a leather cleaner/conditioner on a microfiber towel, a moist microfiber towel, and a dry one. After a few hours of buffing, all of the oil spots came out.
    • Prepare for your fingers to be sore for a day or so. Everyone wasn't kidding!
    • Be very patient and take breaks. It can be a little maddening at times but isn't too bad just very time consuming. It took me around 4 hours or so but I was taking my time and had to redo a few parts due to errors.
    • The included instructions are decent but it also helps to watch a few YouTube videos to get familiar with how they work (here's a few: one, two, three). I recommend watching the videos and then reading the instructions in full prior to starting.
    • Let them all sit in the sun for at least 30 minutes prior to installation. Warming them up helps them to stretch over the seats.
    • For the seat bottoms, turn them completely inside out before yo install them. For the seat backs, turn them inside out at least 2/3 of the way. It really helps slide them down.
    • For the front seat bottoms, use pliers to clamp the end of the s-hook on the elastic strap to keep it from sliding off when you're hooking them under the seat.
    • For the rear seat bottoms, use zip tie to secure all of the extra slack from the strings and straps for a cleaner installation.
    • For the rear seat bottoms, it can be difficult to pull the back down and the flap from the front under to hook the velcro. Gently use pliers to help pull the back down over the plastic on the bottom and use the pliers again to pull the flap up that's coming from the front. You can then work your way across the bottom securing the velcro.
    • Be very gentle when pushing the seat covers down around the top of the headrest pieces and especially the rear center seatbelt piece. It can rip very easily when being stretched around the openings.

looks like you put your drivers headrest cover on backwards. Or you have your headrest in the seat backwards. Or maybe just the way I'm looking at it..............

I looked at it again after I posted that I think you're right atleast for the driver side haha I'll take a look. Thanks

EDIT 1: yup, I'm dumb. I put the driver front headrest cover on backwards... it was the first one I did, so that makes sense..

    :facepalm::annoyed::frusty:

    EDIT 2: all fixed!

    :)

Too funny. I just put my new Clazzios on yesterday too. Well just the back seat and all the headrests. Waiting for my front seat heaters to get here and then I will put the front seat covers on. They sure are nice.
