Figured I would put up a picture of the empty toolbox because when I was trying to decide what options to go with, I couldn’t find a picture of the side toolbox anywhere online.

Here is a closer pic of the clothes hangar and center rope light, which is hardwired to the truck’s main battery. Hope all these pics can help someone customize their cap one day, I had a heck of a time trying to find any pictures of this stuff when I was doing my search.

I would give A.R.E. a 0/10 for customer service and managing expectations, absolute garbage for the price I paid. However, I would give them a 10/10 for quality and accuracy to my order. The color match was done perfectly, which I was concerned about since the midnight metallic black has those small blue flecks; they also did every option exactly to my specifications and nothing was incorrect.

Overall I would say it was worth the wait.

The toolbox looks good.. my friend has light strip in his toolbox similar to yours in your cap. If it was me, I will put a light strip in toolbox ceiling and another on toolbox door which while it is open, the light shines down to ground so you can add table next to the truck for night time. Such as cooking, sitting, etc.

Edit: Did your cap dealer offer you an automatic cap door light kit? I mean when you open the cap door, the light comes on automatically, like mine does.

Thats smart for the toolbox light. I just have that circular puck light in there for now.

Yeah they did offer me the automatic light switch so it would turn on when I open the cap but I don’t use it enough in the dark where I need that so I didn’t get that option. I figure it saves some strain on the truck battery if it doesn’t turn on every time I open the cap.

I understand... there is a switch for that reason... If you don't need a light while door is open, you can turn it off... then before you take off, turn it back on then close it... it's all good. I have it on mine for years... no issues.

I plan to get solar panels on the rack and add the lights to it so I wouldn't worry about main battery at all.

Oh cool, and yours is connected to your truck battery now until you get the solar?

i was wondering how much the light will drain the battery.

Yes it's connected to battery right now... the led watt is very low... doesn't hurt the battery at all. But if you run fridge, then that's different story.

lol! I will not be running a fridge so I don’t have to worry about that. That’s good to know though, thanks! I don’t know anything about the electrical/lighting stuff.

Icon Vehicle Dynamics 1.5” AAL went on the truck today.

It did exactly what I expected, gave me about an extra half inch of height in the rear and a higher load capacity than the Ready Lift rear block kit I was running.

I like how it looks in the last picture.

I don't have tint on my front side windows yet. What percentage?

I’m not actually sure what percentage it is, I just asked them to match the rear windows. I think it’s probably like 30%.

I heard that rear windows aren't tinted. They are dyed and I was told they are about 20%.

Oh that’s interesting! Well the place I went didn’t do a great job and my front windows are not as dark as the back so 30% would be about right then.

I’ll be putting a lot of miles on the truck this weekend so I did an early morning install of the Desert Does It seat jackers. I keep hearing amazing things so I wanted to get them in before I hit the road.

Super easy install, maybe 25 minutes total. That front seat weighs more than I realized though lol.

I haven’t driven it yet but I will post an update when I do!

Forgot to mention that Desert Does It sent me candy in the package. 10/10 will purchase from them again

Alright, first impressions of the seat jackers: Awesome. It makes the seat recline a bit farther back, and tilts up the front of the seat (obviously) so your lower back is supported much better.

It almost makes the seat have the lazy-boy kind of feel; like it’s a deeper seat. I highly recommend them!

A lot of people have probably already seen this but I figured it’s worth another post in my build thread since I plan for this truck to be at least a 300k mile rig one day.

    Lots of good advice here:
