Measured my Grabbers while I was at it.

If anyone is curious about how they wear, this is where they are now with 23K miles on them….just about 12/32nds on every measurement I took.

I haven't seen that tool before... I have one that goes to the tube thing where you put air in.

    Where you get it from?

I would like to take a post to say a huge thank you to @memario1214 from Hotshot Offroad.

I’ve been rolling around on a Rough Country spacer level for a while now just to save money. It certainly hasn’t been ideal but it got me from point A to B and now it’s time for a change.

I have a huge trip coming up in a couple of months and a ton of other medium length trips this year, so I felt like now is the time to upgrade.

That being said, As I’m sure those of you who follow my thread can tell, this is my one big hobby. The biggest addition to the truck that I’ve been waiting to do is upgrading the suspension. I knew from previously buying parts from Hotshot Offroad that they were the best company to go with.

I PM’d Colton with a stupid long question that I’m sure he’s had to answer 15,000 times before. He responded quickly and gave me a fantastic answer full of information and was extremely helpful.

So, I ordered a set of Bilstein 5100’s for all 4 corners of my truck on Monday.

Somehow, he managed to get them from Montana to MD in under 48 hours and shipping was free. I can’t say thanks enough for the outstanding customer service. It’s great to know there are awesome vendors like Hotshot Offroad around who are willing to help with something that a lot of us put so much of our free time and money into. This wasn’t the first time I’ve purchased parts from him and it certainly won’t be the last. No one asked me to write this post, I just want to give credit where credit is due. I highly recommend Hotshot Offroad.

More pics to come once the Bilsteins are on the truck :D

I am not, I watched a few install videos and I’m sure I could do it if I had the tools. Unfortunately I don’t and I also have almost no free time in the next month or so. So I’m having the guys at a shop I trust do it.

heck yeah!! Post before and after pictures when installed and details on what clip setting you used and what coils. Can’t wait to see the outcome.

Will do man! I’m going to do the 5th notch. My RC level is 2” so theoretically the truck should have the exact same stance before and after.

:fistbump: Thank you for that! Absolutely appreciate folks like yourself.

To be completely fair though we didn't send direct from MT. We have warehouses scattered around the US, and just happened to have everything you needed in our KY location! Otherwise it probably would be there tomorrow :D

Hahah I respect the honesty! I saw MT on the box so I made an assumption.

    Thanks again!

The day has finally arrived and the Bilstein 5100’s are on the truck. Set to the 5th notch on stock springs and the truck is perfectly level. Good lord do these things ride better than the stock suspension with a spacer lift. I feel like I finally have a really capable vehicle.

    I am so excited.

My next project is going to be picking the right tires, I’ve been doing days and days of research. The 265/75/16 Grabbers have been great but they are a bit small for my liking. The next step will be either 255/85/16 Cooper ST Maxx’s or a 285 all terrain. That’s a few months down the road though…I have a few big trips coming up that I’m going to do with this setup and I can’t wait.

did you do the driver and passenger on the same clip setting? Looks good! Do you have a straight side view?
Also do you have the add a leaf in with the custom 3/8” block?

Yep, they are both on the same setting. I didn’t take a side shot with the Bilsteins but it sits exactly the same as it did with the 2” Rough Country leveling kit so you can use all my prior pics as a reference since it’s the same.

I’m not sure what a custom 3/8” block is so I do not have that lol

oh my bad. Someone else on here said they put in a custom 3/8” block in the rear. I thought it was you lol. Anyways, truck looks good. I’m debating whether I want the westcott design lift kit for the 4600’s but then I’ll need bigger tires and that’s not really in the budget yet lol. So I guess I’ll wait till that’s in the budget.

dang. I average 18-19 on a completely stock truck. And I’m light on the throttle. I try and get over 20 but I can’t do it haha.

Yep I have the Icon AAL. In reference to your other post, I do get great gas mileage. I think some of it is due to the long distance drives I do and also my driving habits and I think the shell helps as well.
