Hey, this is my truck now with the 5100’s…

When the bed is unloaded it’s either perfectly level or the rear may be a tiny bit higher than the front (if that’s the case it’s barely noticeable).

Thank you guys! I’m in the middle of a massive road trip right now. I’ll be back home some time next week and I’m going to do a big photo dump then so stay tuned if you enjoy the pics.

We are headed out west through a bunch of states. I’ll post a list of them once I have time to post all the pics.

The first major trip in the truck is complete…

States visited: Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota & Montana.

Total miles: 5,265 in 2 weeks.

It was a combination of a lot of highway miles as well as a good amount of trail riding.

This is exactly the type of trip I have been building the Tacoma up for and it performed flawlessly. I learned a lot during the trip and now that I’m back home it’s time to adjust and add what I felt like the truck could have used. Then on to the next one
    :burnrubber:

Here are some pics from the adventure:

Trying to outrun a nasty storm in North Dakota…

    IMG_7758.jpg

I had been driving with 3 tractor trailers that were hauling massive wind turbine propellers. I couldn’t get a pic but it was pretty cool to see; they were enormous. Like, bigger than the wing of a 747.

    Out on the trails:

    IMG_7796.jpg

    IMG_7815.jpg IMG_7805.jpg

    IMG_7766.jpg
    IMG_7783.jpg

Literally had my head in the clouds here…

    IMG_7804.jpg

Headed up an extremely rocky single vehicle trail which led to an old wild fire lookout that was on a peak over 6,000 feet up…this one got really sketchy. There was a ~3,000 foot drop over the edge if I slid off the trail:

    IMG_0735.jpg
    IMG_0737.jpg
    IMG_0727.jpg

There was a tree down across part of the trail in one portion where there was no wiggle room on the edge of the trail. It was probably the sketchiest thing I’ve ever done. I have some solid pinstripes on the truck from hugging one side where there was brush and bushes coming out of the mountain.

The only casualty of the whole trip…Broken window button thingy:

    IMG_7831.jpg

The button still works fine, but the label fell slightly into the door. I can probably live with it lol

I think I can safely say that the only thing I really was bummed I didn’t have on the truck which I needed is a Weboost. That is going to be my next purchase, probably in the next week or two.

I’ll update accordingly as I continue to build and drive the truck!

Really can’t beat the scenery in Montana and Wyoming. Such a natural beauty that pictures can’t even do justice.

It’s funny you say that, I actually told my wife at one point that I was going to stop taking pictures because none of them did the scenery justice. It was literally breathtaking.

a saw...if the tree was down, you could have cut it and moved it....add it to the list...and a shovel if you dont have one!

    Thank you sir!!

I have an axe in the truck that I could have used but I was able to get around the log without cutting fortunately.

Thanks for the recommendations and kind words!
