Thanks man! It was an absolute blast. I’m in kind of a break from mods/planning phase now. Just trying to decide what I want to do next.

That’s awesome, I’ve only been to Texas in airports while passing through. You’re definitely a lot closer to some of the better spots. I’m thinking of doing Utah/Colorado next year.

Yeah I’ve been trying to explore more stuff around here, there are definitely a lot of places to see.

Right now I’m just struggling with what to do to the truck next lol, so many options it’s overwhelming.

I had some post-trip TLC done on the truck today. Road force balance and an alignment because I knew that some of those trails in Montana knocked the alignment out of whack.

I was surprised to see the uneven wear in the tires because I have had several alignments done with the Grabbers and I rotate them every 5K miles. Probably has something to do with all the rocks and gravel they have seen.

    IMG_7906.jpg IMG_7907.jpg IMG_7908.jpg

I also bought some new lugs (finally black) because one of the old ones had a top snap off. They look way better than the chrome ones I had before.

I ve been thinking about what tires to go with and from the 3 big ones KO2, Faulkin, and Yoko Geos I think Yokos would fit the most likely terrain I would see most of.

Well the yokos are at AT with a mud base platform; essentially took a mud tire and engineered it to be suitable for the road and other terrains but it’s bread and butter is the mud.

Oh cool, which Geolandars are they? I used to have the g003’s for a short period of time.

The Grabbers I have now are also a hybrid tire and I love them, I think the hybrid tires are the way to go for how we use our trucks. They have been great in every situation I’ve encountered on and off road.

That would be awesome! I think it’s a great way to keep track of stuff and it’s fun to see how far the truck has come. Tag me in your thread when you make one so I can follow!

I have XB lights but not amber though. (Which you see my picture at the left of this post.) I wish I didn’t buy them and wait til amber version come out then I buy it.

So I’ll consider to buy amber XB later.

@tpharo34 I have a thread about my truck. Feel free to check it out if you haven’t seen it.

I figure since I just had an alignment and road force balance done, now would be a good time to write a little 30K mile review of my General Grabber A/Tx tires.

The short and sweet of it: I love these tires. General bills them as a Hybrid tire, so it’s in between an all terrain and a mud tire (hence the “x” in the name). I have recently been doing tire research again because I’ve been debating going up to a 33” tire. I have pretty much exclusively looking at hybrid tires and I have noticed that, at least in my research, the Grabber is the only hybrid tire with the 3PMS rating.

Apparently all of the Kenda Klever R/T’s qualified for the 3PMS rating, with the exception of one single size, so Kenda decided to keep the rating off the entire line of tires. Gotta give credit where credit is due.

Anyway, back to the Grabbers. These tires have been amazing in all conditions and at this point, I will probably be buying a second set when these wear out. If they ever wear out. Below are my thoughts in some various conditions:

    Dry Pavement:

Absolutely phenomenal. 10/10. I still forget driving out of the tire shop 30K miles ago after I had them mounted. I was amazing at the difference in on-road handling from the stock Toyo highway tires. They grip so well, the truck feels much more stable and planted.

    Wet pavement:

Again, 10/10. These tires have extremely deep and frequent sipes, so the wet and winter handling is exceptional. I have never had them break loose in rainy driving and I have done extended highway drives in horrendous downpours. I always felt very safe and planted on the road even at 60+ MPH in the rain.

    Mud:

I don’t do a ton of stuff in the mud, but the driving I have done in mud these have been great.

    Sand:

When aired down properly, 10/10 again. I drove through some really deep and loose sand last year in the outer banks and these got me through without getting stuck.

    Ice and Snow:

I can’t really speak to these conditions as I have only had these tires through one winter and it was a very mild winter.

    Dirt/Gravel/Rocks:

(Not rock crawling rocks, but trails with frequent small to medium size rocks).

Again, exceptional. This is the majority of my offroad driving and these things hook up like champions. I have never been stuck although I do stay within my comfort zone on the trails and I don’t do any rock crawling obviously.

    Road noise:

At this point, 7/10. They were super quiet but recently they have gotten a bit louder. Still not as loud as the Yokohama g003 mud terrains I used to have. Although they are a bit noisy nowadays, they are silky smooth on the road. There has been a tiny bit of uneven wear (see post above) but that is probably due to all the rock and gravel these tires have seen. They still ride smooth as silk on the roadway, even at 30K miles.

Needless to say, I will very likely be buying these again. The only reason I would get a different set of tires in the future is just to give something different a try. If anyone has any questions let me know! I know I missed a lot of stuff but just wanted to give some general opinions because I don’t see many reviews of the Grabber ATXs.

I would guess based on the current treadwear that I will easily get 65K miles out of these. They do come with a 60K mile warranty on top of the 3PMS rating. What else could you ask for in a tire?

I think it’s the perfect tire for someone like me who does a massive amount of highway driving and also a lot of trail riding.

    IMG_7664.jpg

Some pictures of what the siping, tread pattern and tread depth look like at 30K miles:

    IMG_7917.jpg IMG_7916.jpg IMG_7918.jpg

As you can see, there is still a massive amount of depth left in the siping as well as the tread. Much better than some tires that have very shallow sipes that disappear after a short period of time.

    Hope this helps!
