Nice truck.. Is the black one yours as well or someone else's?

I took a picture similar to yours. I was ready to leave the bar to go home and I went out to the parking lot and noticed a white 3rd gen Tacoma parked next to mine.

KM3 tires are nice but I rather stick with AT tires such as KO2.

@Road_Warrior has factory bumper which it needs to be trimmed before 285 tires to be put on since the black truck in your photo has new bumper which is why that guy got tires that fit in. If he has lift, it would be no problem unless depending on offset in wheels.

I plan to get 285s on mine which it takes awhile unless I change around my order list. Which is why I plan to get a bumper in a few months before I get 285s.

I have 265 on mine for now. If I decide to stay with 265, then I will get AT tires in that size. I have street tires on mine for temporary because I had nails in them due construction job sites. Once I am retired, I will keep 285s on there for good or get 265 AT instead.

When I had my 2” spacer lift I actually fit 285’s with no rubbing on the street. But yeah If you’re gonna be going off road it will definitely take some work to make 285’s fit.

I wish it didn’t take any work besides buying the tires lol

Yeah I have seen tacomas like the black Tacoma in the picture in few posts above. They have like 33", 35", or 37" on their trucks. They go off road with no problem.

I went to off road store and they have amazing flex on the truck or jeep on the ramp like this:

Yeah but they have issues. I hear all the time. I stay away from Jeep. My mom has Jeep but has issues and goes to shop lot of times. Told her to get Toyota but she didn't listen.

    You stop that right now.

Ugh. It looks so good. What made you decide to go down in size?

I added more blue to my front suspension, and Total Chaos designed their shock setup around 33s

And I've had 35s for 5+ years. I don't wheel hard enough to warrant keeping them

Makes sense! That’s such an awesome setup.

It’s funny to think back to the day I got my 265’s and how huge I thought they were compared to the stock 245’s lol

This exactly what's preventing me from going 255, just so expensive. Its hard to justify when at least for my case 265/75 have gotten me everywhere I've needed to go.

It’s like I’m talking to myself! Lol yeah that’s exactly how I feel. The 265’s are so practical if you don’t do any serious rock crawling or really severe trails.

That being said, I feel like down the road I might wind up doing 285’s anyway but for now I’m trying to stick with the 265’s. I just wish someone made a 255/85/16 tire that was priced reasonably and not a mud terrain.

I feel like you could do a 235/85/16 and not be a mud terrain

I definitely could but that’s a little small for my taste. My only real “problem” with the 265/75/16’s I have now is that I feel that they look too small on my truck and it looks silly.
