I noticed some rust forming on my Cali Raised bed stiffeners so I hit them with a steel wool brush and then repainted them with this stuff:

Seems like it was the perfect tool for the job, only time will tell how long it keeps the rust away but for now the bed stiffeners look brand new again.

That’s strange… you got rust on them since you have a shell on. You have leak near tailgate?

When it rains really hard for a half or full day, some water gets in and I also do a lot of trips to the beach so the salt water doesn’t help either. It’s not enough to make any of my gear wet, fortunately.

Thanks! I really appreciate that. It’s not an issue at all, it was just a little rust forming around a few edges. I use my truck like a truck so I expect things to have some wear and tear.

They still work great and I would recommend them to anyone who asks.

It just makes more sense with my current work/life balance to pay a shop to do it and have the peace of mind knowing it was done professionally and correctly. I’d rather spend my spare time driving the truck than working on it for now.

Back to the tire talk in regard to 33s. Have you looked into Nokian Outpost nAT? 285/75R16 is only 53lbs and 3PMSF rated

I run these on my trailer. Seem like pretty good "tyres" from what I can tell.

It’s funny you mention that, I was actually looking at that thread today after someone revived it.

I checked them out after seeing the thread and they look good but I feel like they might not be geared for off road use as much as I need. It seems like they’re a great mild AT tire though. That weight is also sooo tempting for a 285. It just makes me concerned that it wouldn’t be a very puncture resistant tire.

I sort of felt the same way; as in they’re more of an all-season tire than they are all-terrain. Though from reviews I’ve read and their website hype they’re supposed to be pretty resilient against punctures… I think ultimately I’m with you, they’re very tempting but I don’t think it’s enough for me to pull the trigger on em.

Yeah it’s definitely a tempting tire. I kind of feel the same about the Cooper XLT’s. They look great, have great reviews all around and they’re super light but they are 2 ply instead of 3 ply so I’m not sure I would feel too confident when I’m out in the middle of nowhere.

Recently I’ve been thinking about the ST Maxx again. Maybe in 265/75/16. I’d love to run the 255/85/16’s but they’re just so crazy expensive. I was really excited about the AT4W skinny until I saw that it’s C rated AND heavy.

Just buy my tires and be done with it... they are 285's, extremely puncture resistant and insane traction offroad. Plus they have less than 3,000 miles on them and I will cut an insane deal to get rid of all 5.
