ahhh. I’ve tried mud terrrains before and it just doesn’t work with how many highway miles I drive. Plus I have a 16” wheel

Yep, this will be my 18th set of tires on this truck and I just hit 80,000 miles the other day.

 

My god lol. What has been your favorite out of the 18 sets?

 

Is that on your 2nd gen? If so, that's low. That's good. Unless you meant on your 3rd gen, then that's lot of miles you have gone since you bought it.

Or you meant mileages on the tires? Or actual mileage on your screen?

I got 2007 Tacoma back in 2014 with 20,000 miles on it. Then I traded it in for my 3rd gen which '07 had 35K on it in 2018 to get my new '17 Taco..

 

MT wise was a 255/85r16 Maxxis Bighorn. Or the current 285/75r17 Maxxis Buckshot Mudder 2's I'm running
AT was the 255/85r16 in CooperST Maxx

I was actually the third person in the state of AL to own a set of duratracs, according to Goodyear back in 2008... I've had extremely mild AT's, highway tires and multiple sets of extremely aggressive MT's... have actually never taken a set of tires past half tread with this truck.

On my second Gen. I don't own a 3rd gen. I bought my second Gen brand new in 2011 with 8 miles on it. Had it since, but got a daily starting in 2015. So it is strictly a trail rig since then.

 

Nice! That’s alot of good tire experience. I always hear fantastic things about Maxxis and I’m strongly considering them for my next tire. Same with the ST Maxx. I would have purchased the 255/85/16 ST Maxx’s years ago if they weren’t so expensive.

 

My current truck is a daily driven right now until I get the rest of mods installed then it will be a camping/trail truck.

I have street tires on mine since I work in construction, then I will change them to AT tires once I retire from construction.

 

Alright ladies & gentlemen, exciting news! I finally made up my mind (I think?) about the next set of tires. The order has been placed and it’s not what I expected myself to buy

Is it an all terrain? Is it a hybrid? It is….another mud tire? Is it a 285? Or a 265? Or perhaps a skinny tire?



I will post some pictures and more details when they arrive. Install is scheduled for later this week and then hopefully I’ll have some time to test them out this weekend.

 

That’s how I feel! It’s gonna be so hard looking at the truck but not having any time to really drive it until the weekend.

O boohoo! Now you know my pain... I've had 4 tires in the bed of my tacoma for a week now waiting for FedEx to bring the 5th as well as to find a moment to get them mounted....
