Clean, Purpose-Built 3rd Gen SR5

What year/model is your current ram? I’ve always wanted a Cummins, never had a reason to spend all that money and deal with the maintenance issues with the new DEF systems though. My 2013 was gas not diesel.

 

Current ram is a 2022. Even though it got delivered early 2023. Guess since I ordered it early 2022 that is why it was labeled that.

Don't have a Cummins either. All mine have been gas burners. But I've had pretty good luck with them and have averaged about 21mpg.

 

Nice. Maybe they fixed all the electronic issues in the newer models since mine would be over 10 years old at this point if I kept it. It did always get good mileage!

The fit and finish of that truck was fantastic, but it became undriveable because of electrical gremlins.

 

Funny thing just happened…Fed Ex pulled up in the driveway and I wasn’t expecting anything. They leave, I go outside and find 4 more brand new Yokohama AT4’s in my driveway. So now I have 8

I guess simple tire made some sort of shipping error. Now I have to figure out how to send the 4 extra tires back lol

I’ll probably see if they will let me keep one so I have a full size spare again.

Right!? That’s a potentially expensive mistake to make for them because I’m sure a lot of people would just keep them or return them for a full refund and not mention the other 4 tires lol

 

It happens. I heard a story years ago, that someone ordered 1 laptop but instead, package got delivered and the owner opened and got one laptop but noticed he got 5 laptops in the box!

I have seen videos and articles that people receiving the x amount of items instead of 1.

If you were not charged for the second set of tires, then you could keep them for years later that way you can easily swap them when your current tires gone bad. FREE!

If you were charged twice, then you can return the second set back for refund unless you ask to keep one for spare.

 

Yeah I did not get charged for the second set so I’m just going to return them on Simple Tire’s dime. Unless they just tell me to keep them which I doubt will happen haha

 

They take the other set of tires back?

 

As his council I have advised to not speak of the whereabouts of said tires.

 

I think that’s good advice…

lol just kidding, yeah in my head the conversation was going to go “wow you’re so honest you can definitely keep all 4 tires to resell them and break even!” In reality they were like “We will have FedEx there tomorrow to pick them up!”

So yes, sadly the extra 4 tires are going back home.

Could this be my forever tire? Maybe, definitely a possibility. They are certainly not going to get the same cool points as my Maxxis MTs, but that’s not the point of this build. They are certainly better suited for my use of the truck than a mud tire.

Initial impressions are that they are super smooth and very quiet.

Actually no! None

I'm pretty surprised and very happy about it haha. Now just gotta do the speedometer calibrator and alignment and it’ll be all buttoned up.
