Well I just went for a drive and it sounds precisely 0% quieter than before. It somehow might actually be louder, I’m pretty bummed. All that work for no result.

Do you have a pic of what you did? It seems like I’m gonna need to try that. I’m glad you had some helpful advice haha

I can try and get one when I get home. I'm really bad at remembering to stop and take photos, hence why my build thread seldom gets updated lol

For mine, no, but I also built my platform so it will just depend on how much space you have back there with the Goose Gear. I imagine its about the same as mine since it still has to clear all the crap on that back wall.

I did same way. I got the truck after Christmas of ‘17 but I didn’t have mods installed until 2019. I got shell in ‘19.

I removed the goose gear wall again and made two flaps for the rear cab wall vents. Air can flow around the side and through the whole in the middle. We’ll see if it helps with the sound.

If anyone didn’t know, the two vents in the rear cab wall have little fabric flaps that just flap around so you basically have to permanent holes to the outside in your rear cab wall.

Oh nice!! That’s super smart. I can see how that would help for sure.

I was trying to figure out a way to re-attach the OEM foam carpet stuff that was back there but I covered up the mounting holes by mistake and couldn’t find them again lol

I just went for a drive and these flaps I made with the Siless foam seem to work pretty good. That tape you have looks like a good mounting solution though if I do want to put my OEM carpet mat thingy back up behind the goose gear.

I only regret the roof rack, skids, sliders and tires when filling the tank

could be worse/better, could be rocking 35s and stock gears

off topic from that and on topic for you, it’s supposed to be in the 50s tomorrow if you’re going to mess with your sound issue.
