    Thanks man!!

That’s my goal, nothing crazy. It’s my daily driver and my adventure vehicle. No crazy wheeling but it will be going cross-country multiple times and all over North America.

I hope to be in that 400,000 mile club one day lol

2016 SR5 access cab 4x4 here, 100k miles on the 2.7L 4banger and no major component wear or any other issues since day 1.
Most 'off roading' it sees is the dirt roads and trails on the family farm and surrounding area gravel roads. Winter too is extra fun in 4x4 with all the snow we get.

It's my DD also, only vehicle I have.

I think your truck will last a long ass time.

That’s awesome. I’m glad to hear that you’re racking up the miles with no issues.

My previous truck was a 2013 ram 1500 that I bought new and it was a complete piece of garbage after about 60K miles. I maintained it meticulously but it was just a poorly built truck.

That’s the main reason I went with a Tacoma, because of the reliability.

    You and I both!
My previous ride was 2011 VW sedan bought new that needed on avg $4k of work per year just to keep it on the road. Mostly electrical components and suspension getting absolutely hammered by our shit roads.

Got the Taco so I wouldn't need to worry about potholes wrecking the car, 4x4 and high ground clearance is such a joy in the winter too. Never left me stuck anywhere. Only vehicle I've ever driven that makes me say out loud "man, I love this thing" once in a while haha

omg. My mechanic has a few loaner cars that are VW’s. That’s the only time I’ve driven one. They seem fine for city driving but yeah that’s absolutely ridiculous.

Just not built to last. Prob decent if u do very low city miles and use it a grocery getter.

Out in the country it's a liability imo, lol.

Taco for life for me now, unless we get Hilux up here in the future.

I agree 100%. A Hilux would be so cool. I already have so much sentimental value in this truck idk if I could get rid of it though haha

I got the 1.5” AAL. I haven’t had a chance to get it installed yet, probably within the next couple weeks. I don’t carry enough weight to justify getting their full RXT pack.

too bad you’re not in Texas. I have a SmartCap Adventure for sale that would look nice on your matching black SR5…

Ah that does look good! I like the SmartCaps a lot. I would definitely consider it if I was closer.

Nice looking taco by the way

Alright guys, the moment has finally come. The ARE CX cap is on the truck and ready to roll. After almost 6 months of waiting, I was starting to get extremely frustrated.

Yakima Skyline roof rack. Toolbox on the driver side. Solid aluminum windoors with a pass through to the bed on the passenger side. Interior light and carpeting. Custom color matched to my truck.
    :burnrubber:

This marks the end of the truck’s exterior transformation. Any other mods that I do will be performance related.

    Super clean man, real nice.

Do you have anything planned for the inside of the bed? like bed matt, tool/storage stuff etc?

Thanks bro! I really appreciate it.

The bed is going to stay empty so we can load it up with gear and luggage on trips. The toolbox that is installed in the driver’s side of the cap will provide all the storage space I need for quick-access stuff.

Dope, get yourself a rubber matt for the bed if you can. Really cuts down on vibrations back there and stops things from rolling around. Plus lot easier on the knees when u gotta get way back there.

That’s smart. I guess it would be easy enough to take out when I need the bed for yard work and house stuff.

Do you have a link for something like that?
