I was waiting for someone to bring it up, guess some just have and like their CD's.
I load a CD on a USB stick in it's own file and when i choose one whatever pic is on the CD comes up on my screen with all the songs from it. there can be a massive amount of CD files and i just scroll thru them from the button on the steering wheel. yea some time involved in transferring from CD to MP3 files on the USB, but beats ejecting a CD and putting in another one. IMO
not to long ago I tossed a old dusty box of CD's that i had put on a USB stick.

True audiophiles (I'm not) can hear the difference in quality between streamed music verses a CD.

Back to back listening to something streamed on YouTube versus a CD is noticeable. With that said, my Tacoma isn't the best medium for concert hall listening.

Looks like a good option. There is an apparently identical one in the listing for $10 less, with a 5% discount.

I use this to play from my ipod classic/touch. Comes with aux cord as well. Plugs into the cd changer port. I don't know where you could find one now, I bought it 9 years ago. However I still prefer CDs, there's such a thing as having too much music at your fingertips, the endless scroll... or hitting shuffle forever trying to find something good... I just keep my 5 favorite CDs in my center console and my "shuffle" is blindly reaching in and grabbing one.

I also have a flip phone, yes.

It just works every time.

The CD also offers better fidelity as well.

It is curious to me -- from the 60's to the early 2000's we (consumers) bought newer and better gear to get better fidelity, going from an AM radio to an FM one for example.

However in the last 20 years people have traded convenience and quantity for fidelity in many cases. :notsure:

Well shit, now you've done it. I just had to try it.

It works too. Won't help OP though, I don't think a '23 has an aux port.

better, upload direct to a USB and just stick it in the slot on the dash. i got a mini USB so it does not stock out and interfere with the cup holder.

i have a couple thousand songs on my phone, all of which are 16 bit at 44.1kHz. they could also be copied to a USB thumb drive.

You edited the most important part of my post:

    "It just works every time."
I don't want to mess with my phone, spend hours fooling with a computer, etc.

Fill up my road trip box with whatever suits my mood and hit the pavement.
    ...yes, I'm old... ;);)

lol, use whatever your preferred device might be, or whatever you find more convenient.

i was responding to the bit about fidelity. CD's themselves aren't even the highest resolution source available now. 30 years ago, i don't think more people were focused on fidelity than now. but those that are, now, are more likely to have a digital archive for storage and personal distribution. once you have such an archive it's really easy to have many hours of music, at a decent resolution, in your pocket at all times.
