Cleaning out your tank and fuel lines

So I went to autozone yesterday to pick some stuff up and they had fuel tank cleaner for sale and He said it should be done every three months. To myself I called bullshit on that, but I have never done that on my truck I have gotten it serviced and what not every 3 months, but never clean out the fuel tank or put any cleaner in my gas tank?

Anybody have thoughts reguarding this?

Seafoam is more for getting the carbon buildup out of your engine. I think what he is talking about is actually like getting all the gunk and crap out of his tank.

 

Seafoam will help to do that too.

 

IMO Try BG's 44K. Most gas cleaners use ALCOHOL, which destroys the rubber lines, 44K does not contain this. I put it in every 5K. The Toyota dealership will charge you a gas cleaning treatment service when your truck reaches so many miles. If you don't use 44K, the dealership will charge you for this service. I got a really good deal from the Toyota parts dept when I bought a case of it for cash.

 

i must agree with osujake, I have never used 44k. I have always used lucas. I buy it by the gallon at autozone and put in my tank after my 5k oil change.
