Pretty cool! I like it. If I ever had to ditch the carpet, I'd probably go with this option as well.

I feel like CG is starting to get close to turtle wax and armour all standards to be honest. Carpro, shine supply, optimum all day long over CG, unless you want one of 700 scent air fresheners or 8 bottle of stuff that all do the same thing

Great idea but I wonder if that will interfere with fitment of the new pre-formed flooring?

It shouldn't as the sound deadning materials are not that thick. I remember seeing a thread about this same exact mod already with sound deadning underneath.

It wouldn't hurt at all. If I was going thru the trouble to take the seats then carpet out, I would absolutely lay down some CLD tiles, closed cell foam, and mass loaded vinyl under the new flooring. It would cost maybe $150 more and make a huge difference in ambient road noise. Reading thru various threads about this flooring I'm actually shocked no one did sound deadening too, that seems crazy to me to skip that step

Shit looks like it’s sold out. Is the part in the link for auto or manual? Access cab or double?

How much weight would you add by sound deadening the bottom of the cab? Roughly?

I did my entire tundra cab minus the roof and I'll get that one of these days. I did the floor, back wall, doors with noico tiles, closed cell foam and MLV and it was probably 150 lbs of material give or take a few lbs. Well worth it, the cab is quiet, stereo sounds better, no rattles or vibrations.

I just looked at the material I used and shipping weight was about 25lbs for 36 sq ft of sound deadning.

That sounds about right. I would've guessed in the 25-30lb range for doing the floor only.

If you do it right with mass loaded vinyl, on top of that material and foam as a buffer layer it's much more weight. The thin MLV is 1lb/sq.ft, the good stuff is 2.

ok, ok. Got me curious about it. I used Damplifier Pro on my truck, and here's the specs on that.
    • 2mm total thickness (80 mils)
    • Each sheet is 12” x 20” (1.67 sq ft) and weighs about 0.7 lbs / sq ft
Then I used Heatwave Pro on the roof:
    • Each sheet is 3/8” thick and 6’ by 4’ (24 Sq Ft)
    • Weight: 0.188 pounds per square foot
And Overkill Pro in the doors:
    • Each sheet is 24” x 54” (9 Sq Ft)
    • Weight = 0.39 pounds per square foot
But yes, If I were to take up the carpet, I'd use Damp Pro and Luxury Liner (not sure if the Pro version would work b/c of thickness, but here's specs on that anyway)
    • 3/8” thick sheet of fused mass loaded vinyl and closed cell foam
    • Each sheet is 24” x 54” (9 Sq Ft)
    • Weight: 1.25 pounds per square foot

Got an email that it is not available in any of there local warehouses and will be ordered and shipped from their Kentucky warehouse. Itll take 2 wks and another $35 for shipping. Still going to proceed with order and wait.

So back to the interior cleaning, definitely take a look at shine supply. We get a 10% discount on tundras.com, tundras10 code.
They make some amazing stuff. Their clean and shine works very well.
I like aero 303 but it's not a clearer, it's a protectant. As far as household items you could use, simple soap and water does wonders, diluted simple green does too, really any all purpose cleaner will work just be sure to dilute. I like the clean and shine cuz it is one step and leaves the interior looking really good.
They also have several other products I highly recommend. Their tire cleaner called wise guy is out of this world good, never seen anything come close. Again you dilute it down so a bottle goes a long way. They also have some spray sealants and quick detailers that are among my favorites to use.
