Hey all...just de-badged my white TRD to paint the emblems black. I wanted to use Plasti Dip but after visiting 3 home depots and two canadaian tires i could not find it anywhere. So i used Krylon Camouflage Ultra Flat black, it gave me the great flat black that i wanted but my question is should i apply the layer of clear coat on top of that. I have seen a few threads where guys have used it and others where they didnt.

Will the spray paint finish hold up on its own or should i go with a clear coat protector ?

Clear coat keeps the paint out of the elements...so its not a must but it will last longer/be more durable

Your flat black will look more glossy. I'd leave it, and if it gets weathered or chipped, respray.
