Appreciate the update! You made the right choice going with a paint refresh.

If you don't mind me asking, what did it end up running you for the roof and hood? I'm in the same boat as my roof is starting to go away, and while my hood still looks ok I can tell it's in need of an eventual refresh as well. You and the others sharing your cost helps to give me (as well as others) at least a ballpark idea of what it'll run.

$250 for the roof and $200 for the hood. Seemed like a fair price and I’m pleased with the quality. We’ll see how it holds up over time.

A wrap won't stick to bad paint.

Toyota made many of their 4x4's have a white roof to reduce sun heat when out off roading
you could paint the roof white
and being such a simple color without paint-matching the body color means it would be straightforward and simple
since it's not a matter of repainting a hood trying to get the right amount of flake in there or something to match the rest of the car

However I don't know if the rest of the body must be redone at the same time, or if that can wait until later
if they can just mask off the white roof a year later to do whatever work is needed on the rest of the body to repaint that, like sanding, prime, paint, clear
Another option might be vinyl wrap
