Thank you for the recommendation. I've been looking for lights for a while, working at remote places now and some days fogs is very thick and being in the mountain lots of dark turns, but They are soooo expensive, too expensive to have them on a bumper just waiting for the first lowlife to yank them off....

They are exceptionally good lights and commonly used on adventure motorcycles that see a lot of abuse.

ok.... what specifically makes them THE BEST?

what color temp are the led's being used?

i see they use cree led chips. which chips specifically are in use? how close is the binning on each led in use?

do they employ any active thermal mitigation techniques to keep the light from dimming or overheating?

do they have a dust mode?

are there any tech specs, or is it all buzzwords and jargon?

the optic package appears to be a standard LEDIL/Carclo TIR optic, installed onto a custom MCPCB. i have access to all of these things as well. what makes it worthwhile to purchase these instead of build my own?

interestingly enough, LEDIL also gives their TIR optics names of similar origins. it seems like it would be a natural fit to use their optics within such a product naming scheme.

the dixi center optics specifically appear to be a carclo/LEDIL '3-up' optic model. i'm intimately familiar with that optic layout considering my last vehicle utilized an eliptical-pattern of the same design for a set of 6 cree xp-g2 3-up mcpcb boards as reverse lights.

as such, i am quite confident in saying that their claim to having 'custom-tooled optics' appears to be absolute bullshit, which gives me pause to begin considering what the other lies they might be attempting to pass off as truth within the product pages.

I don’t have any experience with the Denali lights but a friend of mine says their high visibility selective yellow lights allow you to see really well and also allows you to be seen by others way in advance, in foggy conditions for example https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=QSJoD6xx23M

Denalis are really good too, had them on my last BMW and they survived being t-boned by a car at 30mph.

Well, we already know Holley is far from a credible source on lighting after pushing their Retrobrights.

I'm suspecting your experience must be limited. While I don't have personal experience with those lamps, the optics do not look impressive compared to industry leaders.

Your statement is self contradictory. Selective yellow fogs have cut offs that keep the light out of the eyes of on-coming drivers, while improving your own visibility. SAE compliant fogs do not allow you to be 'seen by other drivers well in advance'. That would indicate directing light above the horizon at the oncoming motorist, which by nature would make for very poor performance in fog.

Denali is also way behind the benchmarks set by brands like Diode Dynamics and Morimoto. The lamps are not competitive in the slightest. Denali also outsources the manufacture of their fogs to Vision X who later acquired them. See the Denali/Vision X review and how they compare: Vision X/Denali CR-4.

Your money will go way father on Diode Dynamics and Morimoto lamps with significantly better performance. So I'm not sure what criteria you are using to claim Clearwater is the very best, especially when the provided videos have no comparison information to the actual best brands products.

Oof, nice hit. Had to go back and see but both lights on the side that was hit survived with broken mounts. The other side made it through the slide pretty well with how much the boxer engine sticks out and keeps the front end off the ground. Impact cracked the frame, broke the right side cylinder head and left me on the girl’s hood yelling what the fuck.
