i dunno its past like magic mountain valencia right? los padres! i almost rolled my truck on this turn..it was my first time doing any sort of offroading and it was the same week i got back from Iraq

Ya I was there too. It gets really tight right there. The jeeps do better at that stuff. I made it though

im down to run some trails out here NOT the one im talking about, after Aug 6-7th....i get the double cab on either of those 2 dates and im having a buddy i work with install a few things, which ill tell you about later

 

This was in the 4wd practice man made area. Did you go here?

 

you know ive seen it several times, but never did it, im still running stock, and wont be maknig that xtra $$ for another month or two, but ive been coming to this place since i was 6 ( 21 now ) there is a spot to camp at the top ( its called the alamo ) ive been trying to get some of my friends/cousins to go camping for a weekend, maybe some of you guys are interested.

 

Ok this thread is awesome other than the banter back and forth later on. What jerkwads who can't stay on topic (sarcasm). When is the next venture out to cleghorn or other local trails? I want to learn more about wheelin. Went on a trip last summer to the Panamint range near Ballarat. It was awesome although my buddy's black Jeep Grand Cherokee left with many Nevada Pinstripes. I don't want that to happen to my shiny new 09 for quite some time.

This thread has also made me want stuff on my mods list sooner than I can afford. How capable are stock tacos like mine? I also have a friend with a black 08 dbl cab long bed prerunner sport whom might be interested in going. TW Rules!

p.s.
Those of you who have CB's, where do you mount them? There does not seem to be that much room inside the taco. I have an old radioshack cb never removed from the box.

 

here is a pic of where i have my cb, i take it out after wheeling. it is stuck with velcro and never moves and i wired to a cell phone charger so it takes me 1 minute to take out. the next trail run is on the 25th in san diego.

We did a Gorman run about a month ago, I kept recommending to do the trail to Alamo but no one was down .

The camp grounds are really secluded up there, I think its better to be away from all the quads and bike traffic . The campgrounds are called Duthmen camp, Theres a great view up there. Once at the top of Alamo you can take another trail to Mutau Flats, or Miller Jeep trail. Been wanting to do both of those
