yeah it was a short sighted comment on my part there, my bad.

The thing that worries me about folks doing stuff like that in 2wd though is that without low range you're really putting a ton of faith in your brakes to keep you from plummeting down the hill/obstacle, seen some crazy videos of what happens when brakes give out on stuff like that. Probably not as likely to happen on a newer vehicle though

Again, completely agree. You put a lot of faith in the brakes and momentum, but anything downhill is technically achievable in 2wd. Going up, thats a whole different story.
If you can get up, you can get down. Not saying the truck will like it, but it can be done. Kinda like the gate keeper I tried out by rowher.:anonymous:

The only reason that happens on an easy trail like that is because they were going way too fast...this is why I like having a manual, I'm in 4lo 95% of the time I'm off-road no matter what level trail it is. Kinda hard to go too fast in 4lo haha

Situations like the above, I sum up to lack of sense. Common even.

Off topic but has anybody been to pilot rock lately? Thinking about heading there this weekend. Big crowds? Trail condition?

The last time I ran pilot rock was with you and few others. Pretty sure you were the one that lost the nut off your driver's side uca on the way there.
