03 Tacoma. When I go to turn the truck on it won't run it will only make fast clicking noise. Any solutions? Tested and charges at 14.3 when on jumped by another car not connected. Battery diehard platinum only 4 years old.

swap battery with another vehicle first then if its still acting up move on to other things

if it starts from jumper cables then its most likely your battery is bad

This^^^ Then get a new one because it's going to do it again. And Do Not get a rebuilt, I went through 5 rebuilt starters on my 81 before I just bought a used one at pick and pull and it worked for years. Toyota starters don't like being rebuilt.

just because it shows voltage doesn't mean it will allow current to flow, many people don't realize voltage doesn't mean its getting power, only that the voltage is there.

you could only have one amp of power flowing out of the battery but still read 12v so that's why batteries are load tested to see how many amps they are putting out

don't hit the starter with the hammer! you risk damaging the magnets inside and making a situation worse. also, batteries in high temp parts of the world last about 2 years because of how hot they get. your 4 year battery is probably done if it's doing this. remember, you can always get 8 AA batteries in series and get 12 volts. but that's NOT going to push a starter. most likely you had a bad cell which will accept a charge, but won't push out the necessary power to turn a starter.

give it a good charge overnight using a trickle charger/battery maintainer. and then give it a load test! this will put more strain on your battery than a starter can give, plus a load tester has a multimeter monitoring the test and will tell you if if it's good. it should hold 11.5-12 volts while under load. if it's a bad battery. it will drop to 10, 8 or even lower voltages.

Ok checked it today 12.43 is that bad? Also gotta change the ground terminal wire cause the bolt snapped that hold the terminal clamp in place . It not super loose but not snug.

if you did a load test and the battery held 12 volts while under load for 10 seconds, your battery is fine.

and you can usually buy just the bolt and nut for top post at an auto parts store.

Check the crank amps on the battery too, as voltage doesn't tell the whole story. Had an Optima that held great voltage till the end of its life, died with like 6 cranking amps which is stupidly low (new ones have like 400 or something).

Any auto place will do this for free.

Check the battery with a load tester. Local store should do it for free. Also check all the cable connections, ould be a loose ground or starter cable or corrosion on the terminals.
