My '06 prerunner (120k) has a steady "clicking" sound coming from the R rear kind of like when you used to put a baseball card in your bicycle spokes as a kid (well at least I did). Wheelbearing? Brakes?

Does only do it when you apply the brakes??? I fixed a vehicle that did this once. I changed my rear brakes and did not have the drums turned. The drum and old brakes wore into a tapered cone pattern (i.e. outmost edge of brake lining and outmost edge of mating drum surface wore more than the inner edge edges. The new brake shoes now did not mate parallel contact with the old drum. Every time you hit the brakes the brakes would expand to the tapered drum and get pushed out to hit the flat of the drum. Getting the drum turned foxed the issue.

Did anybody think of a nail/screw/stone stuck in tire?
That'd be my first look, especially if the noise just appeared out of nowhere.
    Simplest explanations and all...

yea it does it in forward and reverse and without any gas applied (coasting) out of driveway. Once you get going you can't hear it because of the road noise Not real loud but enough that you can hear it through closed windows at low speeds. I've also got the bad vibration at 30 to 40mph discussed elsewhere on here but can't imagine that "click" sound made by a universal??

Universal joints can make a clicking noise when it is chewing up the bearings.
