    Hi all,

My truck makes this annoying ticking noise near the dash somewhere.

It mostly happens when going over sharp bumps. It’ll be ticking like absolutely crazy if I go maybe 15 mph or so over really crumbly/rumbly asphalt that isn’t smooth at all (imagine a road that they ground down to resurface, or one that hasn’t been maintained in ages).

I was reading something about relays making a ticking noise and thought maybe that could be it.

Does anyone know of a common cause of ticking on a 1st gen somewhere in the dash area (could be passenger or driver side, not sure)?

This thread isn't too old so I thought I'd share my experience via video. I just fixed mine yesterday. Works great now. After reading through this and not finding any vids on how to fix it, I recorded my work. Hope this helps! https://youtu.be/VCylds8_1d4

Thanks, maybe that’s the motivation I need to get that click fixed. I’m still just cranking the music up and living with it :rockband:

is it safe to remove the actuator and drive around? Just to see if that causes the click?
