It happens almost every time. It doesn't matter if I reverse first or go straight to drive, there is a faint, but clearly audible "click." One D is engaged it doesn't happen again. My truck only has a few hundred miles on it if that matters. Thoughts?

It definitely sounds as if it's coming from the steering column if that helps.

My buddy at work has a 16 ORDC makes the same click from park to drive or vice versa. His comes from the shifter area. Its been in the dealer numerous times. Had his trans replaced at 5K. They reset computer, adjusted shifter and still clicks... Can't figure it out.

Oh man, I hate that. It doesn't sound like anything is "wrong," but I'll have it looked at when I go in for a service.

He got his transmission replaced because of a click!? Where is this dealer. My headliner is falling off and my dealer told me to get lost.

There is a cable that goes from the shift stick to the auto transmission and it sounds like it maybe out of adjustment or defective. Maybe they can look into that OP, it shouldn't be much to look into it.

    Best of luck!
    Cheers!

It does, but it only does it immediately after shifting into D. I guess I'll just run it by the service department.

Mine does this too. It only does it when I am on a hill and the hill assist is not working. The truck starts rolling backwards when I accelerate and the clicking noise happens. Also happens if I put it in drive too fast after backing out of the driveway.

The video doesn't sound like a click to me, more like something rubbing unless we have two separate issues going on here, if so, when going straight there should be no noise?
