    03 Tacoma TRD V6 3.4 161K mi.

AC button when pressed will not illuminate nor turn on the AC. However if you press and hold it, the AC fan kicks on but blows out really hot air despite the temp control being full cold.

Recirculation button is simply non responsive. No light nor anything.

Another interesting symptom is the flow control switch. I usually leave it in defrost but if I move it anywhere else it doesn't do anything until about 20 min later, it will swap vents and go to where I put the knob.

    Fuses check fine.

    You guys got any ideas?

I wonder if your A/C pump is frozen? Do you know if the pump is actually turning?

Took it to a mechanic and he is stumped as well. He started with the simple stuff, AC recharge (it was at 6oz, system holds 1.4lbs) and fuses. He thinks its electrical. Bad switch somewhere.

The thing that doesn't make sense is although he couldn't get the compressor to start at the shop, I've had the compressor kick on randomly over the past month and start blowing out cold air. Maybe a loose wire?

The low pressure switch is located near the evaporator. Might have to jumper that switch to get the pump to engage.

Also having this same issue but I just installed a new stereo unit yesterday...So I may have just not plugged the wires back in correctly.

Is there a diagram/thread showing what the correct climate control wiring/plug layout should be? The fan just seems to be blowing warm air and the AC button or the interior air recirculation button don't light up anymore.

the plugs on the back are not interchangeable so it could be a bad wire or bad HVAC unit.

Yeah just seems too coincidental to have lost the AC/recirculation button connectivity right after replacing the stereo...going to check the fuses tonight also and try replugging everything back in.

make sure they are securely "clicked" into place, could be just loose as well :fingerscrossed:

Yeah turned out to be just a mistaken plug, forgot to put back the small loop harness for the AC controls. 5 mins and it's all back working normally...
