Sometimes when all 3 climate control knobs back lights are supposed to come on (when I turn on running lights or start my truck with them on), the two to the left do but the one to the right (direction of air control, pictured) doesn't come on unless I tap the knob a couple times.

I've tried changing the bulb, but the issue persists even with a new bulb.

Has anyone else experienced this and has achieved a solution? It's really annoying!

i have same issue, couple of taps to get the lights to come on. I figured it was the bulb but hadn't looked yet, though sounds like that's not the fix.

Did anyone find a resolution for this issue? I purchased my 2nd gen a few weeks ago am having this issue also. Like you guys said, just a couple taps and it comes on, but would like to fix it permanently.

I had the same problem, changed the bulb a couple times but no permanent fix. Found out the bulb was shaking loose while I drove. Ended up just putting a small piece of tape over it to prevent it from moving. Fast, easy and free

I'd be willing to guess that it could be an intermittent soldering issue - its probable that Toyota doesn't use leaded-solder in systems which are not safety critical. My stock radio would randomly eject a CD during cold weather days at less than 10 degrees F. My wife's rav4 stock radio displays random things and changes the station occasion.

I just had the HVAC panel out with the faceplate off (thinking of getting rid of all the 'golf pips' and going wet-wet black) - I don't recall though whether its possible to pull the electrical boards out for an inspection.

pop that piece out and put tape on back of light. Piece pops out very easy put a flat head screw driver or I've used a knife under the trim and pop it out tape the bulb good so it's snug.

Same issue on the opposite side. One of these days I am going to pull the thing apart and reflow all the solder, because all the bulbs are fine.
