Mine are on, I added small witness marks so I could see when my lights are turned off.

I took the extra white backing from a random sticker and cut out tiny little white triangles with scissors and they look pretty good...

Wife figured it out on the way home from work tonight. Knew something was different but wasn't sure. She got it. LOL

Crazy, I ordered the knobs from this source on 4/19:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/221669270566

They were shipped from China, and I received them in my mailbox (Oklahoma) this afternoon (4/28). They look great by the way. The fan speed knob was nice and tight in my 09, but the other two needed a little plumbing thread tape around the shaft for a snug fit.

I found a nice trick to take the slack out of the knobs. I slid heat shrink wrap over the posts. Work like a charm. Nice and tight.

I got a trick too, I painted the inside of mine with some rattle can red, I guess the paint wasn't fully dry when I put them on, they are now "glued" on. They don't look great but they are good enough for now.

This is a really crappy pic, they don't look this bad.

    yep..
Has anybody noticed that when using the updated knob in the 4x4 location that it requires more force to turn it, especially when pushing in to engage 4L? I think it's because the new knob is deeper and there's friction on the back against the plastic housing/trim plate)

Has anybody grinded the back of their knob down a bit to make it fit better?

    (That sounded iffy..)

When I first did this mod and got the knobs off AliExpress, it was like 6 bucks with free shipping for the three knobs. Looking down at the "products in this thread", it looks like the sellers may have caught on with the sudden increase in volume since everyone and their mom has been doing this mod and raised the prices a bit...!

I still need to wrap wire around my bulbs to get them to STAY THE FUCK ON. Forget not being able to see the cool piping effect, it's annoying as hell not being able to see what's going on with my HVAC at night at all. :boom:

    Nevermind, all in my head.

My method of tightening up play was to cut a small 1x1 square of a sandwich baggy, over the pin. Works perfectly now.

I tried the shrink tube but it was too thick and kept scrunching up.

The same shit everyone else has.
Teflon tape works well to clean up the slack because it's not bulky at all.

I found that if you use teflon tape, go around twice and then take the end and go over the end of the dial, when you push on the knob it doesn't shove the teflon tape all the way down and there's 0 slack. At least, on the set I ended up with. Worked very well!

Got mine today. Really liking the new look. Wish I bought a second set to use on the 4x4 spot. Anyone have an extra black they're not using and want to sell?

I found the Teflon tape to just be pushed back. I cut a 1 inch square of a sandwich baggy and placed it over the front of the post with one hand (not around it). Then when other hand, pushing the knob on, it gets pulled in. Nice and tight, if not, use 2 layers.
