So, I got these from Amazon and I really like them but there is some light bleed through around them. Anybody know how to take care of that?

Hey guys, we at AJT DESIGN have been considering offering a product for these HVAC knobs. I have some photos of a 3D printed prototype below. We could probably do an injection molded plastic version with mulit colored screws for $30-40/set or a CNC aluminum version for $100-150/set. While more expensive than the knobs shown in these threads, these would be designed to fill the holes in the panel better, offer a more aggressive look and of course MADE IN USA! Just trying to gauge interest here....

If this isn't rugged, I don't know what is. Looks great.

@AJT DESIGN is there still a plan in the works to produce these. I'd buy one!

I think I’ve figured this out. I have an 06. I ordered these knobs off eBay that had reviews and pics posted and loooed great. The knobs look great on my truck but a little light bleeds through around them. Unless I push on them kind of hard it’s like it seals. I think the knob inside the control might be a little long on the early 2nd gens. I’m gonna do some measuring and maybe trim it down a hair, before and after pics to come.

Changed my knobs out. Little bit different, has another ring around the knobs. They fit well, no need for teflon tape or change out clips.
My only problem is being in Florida and wearing sunglasses 90% of the time, I can't always see which way its pointed. Going to use a center punch and put small dot near end of lighted slot. Then put a small dab of white in the center punch divet.
