Cost (almost $9k). Although it would look like a Pro, they would not have the same functionality ie...crawl control (SR5).

I understand what you’re saying it’s like people are cloning the Mustangs to look like Shelby’s but I still don’t get it you don’t have a Shelby and you don’t have a pro if you want a pro go buy a pro.I just think that it is stupid to clone something that you don’t halve. to make people think that you have a pro

And that’s your opinion, and others have different opinions.

More importantly, it’s a hell of lot cheaper to buy a grill and some badges to visually have the aesthetics of a pro, than to pay the extra money for a pro. You aren’t paying the bill, why do you care?

The truck mechanics are the same between TRD OR and Pro. TRD OR has crawl control. With Pro, the only mechanical change is the shocks and springs. All other changes are cosmetic. If you like the Pro look, but want different shocks anyways, and don’t care about badges and stitching, the OR is a much more cost effective option.

This is exactly why. Why pay the money the dealerships are asking for when you can purchase an off-road and make it into a Pro a lot cheaper with a lot better Suspension System

Why are you worried about what other people do to their truck?

Go outside, I’m sure there are some clouds to yell at, old man.

I paid $60 for my pro grille while the OEM cost $300+ plus. Not trying to clone a pro but I like some of the pro features. As stated, if you aren’t paying why does it matter to you? Not everyone wants the cool factor of having a pro badge on the doors and then stripping it of its pro features when it’s more cost effective to go a different route.

It’s like that with a Silverado, their Red Line edition is 10k more and you could probably do everything they do for 2-3k and have the same truck. I have the Off-Road and will put a Pro grill in it at some point, not because I want to copy a pro but I don’t like the grill in mine. I may go a different route but they get costly quick from what I’m seeing. What I’m not going to do is go putting Pro emblems on it to make people think it’s a Pro but that’s just me.

I think think conversation is a dead end because it can keep going. The bottom line is people do not want to spend the money for a Pro when you can buy an off-road and mod it to death and have it even more custom than a pro and then be out the same amount financially. Plus you get to have a lot more fun modding it. :bananadance:

If you're talking about the people that put pro badging on the truck then I'm just as confused about that as you.
However if you're talking about upgrading certain cosmetic features such as the fog lights, tail lights, etc., then that's entirely put to them how they'd like their truck to look. Loads of people like the way other people's trucks look on this forum and try to copy each other. It's just natural.

The TRD Pro grill is better looking than any OEM version. Also, better than some aftermarket. I was thinking of getting the 17" TRD Pro wheels because of fitment and it's not too shabby on the looks department. But this does not mean I wanna be a 4Runner.

Exactly I seen a SR5 yesterday with pro badging and a pro grill I don’t know what they’re trying to accomplish that’s what I’m saying if you want to make it look like a pro go by pro but don’t be a poser

Buying a pro grille doesn’t make you a poser..if anything it’s smarter because it’s vastly cheaper. Badging I can get. Other than that, smarter route to pay for any pro parts on here or elsewhere than at the dealer. For the price of a pro you can end up with a more capable truck. If you’re after the color in the pro that would be the only real reason to get the pro, unless you have money and strip the pro features for the hell of it which at that point your money so it doesn’t matter what others say:hattip: just learn to respect other people’s rigs, it’s their rig not yours so they can mod it to their liking as they paid for it. Try finding a hobby or putting your truck to use on some trails, you didn’t just buy the pro to have it be a pavement princess I assume?

ive had a 2015 pro. and now a 2017 pro.. will never own anything but a pro, they are just that much better, cant make a off road or sport a Pro. you might think you are, but there you go thinking pro is a pro as only a pro owner would know.
