Not in the taco but back in HS I made a quick lane change to avoid something on the freeway and spun out and did 3x360 going about 75mph at about 6pm. 6PM on our free way is heavy rush hour and I have no idea how I did not get hit. I came to about 6” of hitting the concrete center divider.

I wasn't in my truck... was in my Camry

I was stopped at a red light with a vehicle on either side of me. Both turn lanes (I was going straight). Our light turned green and the vehicle to the left of me (an SUV that sat alot higher than I do in my car) didn't move and started honking her horn. So after a second I inched up to see why she isn't moving and is honking. Another suv with the red light was coming, at probably the speed limit, not going to stop. She blew through the light right in front of me. If I had gone, I'd probably be dead. She would have t-boned me.

As the idiot went in front of me, guess that's when she heard the honking and looked startled - stupid idiot.

I didn't usually make sure all other traffic had stopped before going... I do now.

Once saw on I-285 north of Atlanta. A Maxima passed us doing well over 80 in the left lane & it was raining. When he went over a bridge the bump got him loose. Traffic was moderate & cars were beside him. He hydroplained & spun completely around twice in his lane. He didn't hit the car next to him & didn't hit the wall. I have no idea how he got so lucky. And the big shit, he didn't even slow down. Once he recovered he sped back up. DUMBASS!

My close call was when I was in high school and there came a blizzard. This was in 1993 and it was the biggest snow storm in TN in 50-60 years. It rarely snows there anyway so none of us knew diddly-squat about driving in it. I was working at Lowes when it started coming down. By night time the roads were covered. They sent us home early.I had a piece of shit 86' Senta at the time. I had to drive down this freeway called Norris Freeway. Its really curvy. Anyhow, I went around this one curve- probably too fast. I was going 30-35MPH. The car just went straight and went across the freeway and into a snow bank. I totally missed all the oncoming cars and the car wasn't damaged. A guy pulled me out with his truck

I just remembered this one close call for me. i was on my way home, i left school real late, took the highway, and traffic started bunching up. I was in a lane dedicated to the exit i was getting off at. I had a mile till i needed to slow down. I was doing 65 next to traffic doing about 8 mph. I see the roof of a white car moving over a lane, then another lane then he poped into my lane doing about 10. I came [] this close to hitting them. I put the brake to the floor, smash my hand to the horn, i was pushing the brake so hard that i was lifting outta my seat, i could see my front end about to plow into the back of the lincoln towncar. I swerve to the shoulder, so do they, i had to swerve down into a grassy embankment then driving in the embankment then go up the embankment and back on the should then i stopped and then looked out my window to see the lincoln go passed me with an old couple in the car waving at me mouthing "sorry" to me. Scared shitless i get back on the road and get behind to towncar to see them get back into traffic as they realized "this isnt our exit" or "this road ends".... what dumbasses

I was driving from Spain to Portugal...

While in Spain you're up in elevation; coming down into Portugal, you're at sea level and, like, a 25 degree change in temp. Up high, cool and you stay awake; down low, warm and you get drowzy.

You see where this is going?

One day trip was about 8 hours driving time. My girlfriend and I had been in the car about 5 hours and had already come down to sea level in Portugal. The remainder of the trip was a dead straight run to Lisbon with 2 lanes in each direction.

We were in some small, European thing that was brand new with 5 km on it when we were handed the keys in Spain.

I was driving and there's no one on the road, it's Europe, and it's a rental so I'm driving 160 km/hour (exactly 100 mph).

My head must have nodded for just an instant b/c as I woke, we were pointing at the concrete divider b/t opposing lanes.

A very startled shake of the wheel and we were now pointing at the metal guard rail along our lanes.

An instant later we were spinning around.

And the next instant we were pointing straight again the same way we were originally traveling but now we were only going about 70 km!

We looked at each other scared stiff and kept driving...

We never hit anything. When we returned the car a few days later, the rental agent asked us if the car had been OK! We said yes...
