Damn man not a good time. Do you have an ultragauge or a reader?
Keep bumping this hopefully someone can help diagnose.

There's a dealership up the road that I'm going to take it to in the morning. I really hope it's not water in the fuel. None of this shit started happening til I drove through that rain storm

I don't see how that would be possible. Maybe if the gas tank was mounted on top of the bed, but under it I can't see rain getting sucked into a hole in the tank.

Bottom line are those codes, they'll help narrow down whatever is going on.

If u wanna play the whatifs some more prior to getting ur codes read, it could be an issue with water and a coilpack

Obviously not a help at the moment, but i highly suggest getting a scangauge, ultragauge, or a blutooth dongle to pull your own codes in the future. Course the ability to monitor sensors in realtime is a bonus too.

I think mistake #1 was going on a road trip without one of these. Definitely a must especially for F/I. But that's all hindsight now.

It probably happened from driving on the wet road and the tires threw water up into my gas tank or something. I'll report back when I find out more.

Man I'm a little worried. I have to be on the east coast by Friday and I'm currently stuck in OK. Hypothetically speaking... if it's water in my gas how do I fix that? Because I think it's too big of a coincidence that I drove through that storm then all of a sudden this shit happens.

Just for principle I still don't see that happening, physics just doesn't work that way. If you had a leak that's pointing downward where gas is leaking down from it wouldn't allow minuscule amounts of water to travel up and then on top of that be sucked into the tank. Just a coincidence, just trying to ease the worry of water infiltration.

Oh I see what you're thinking. No no. There is an AIR leak on the TOP of the fuel tank because the lock ring was not put on properly. So I'm getting a EVAP code. (TRAC on + Engine light)(I had the code read a couple weeks ago) I'm thinking that where ever that air leak is water somehow may have gotten in. Does that make better sense? It's hard communicating through text lol.

Oh ok. Under the impression that you were leaking fuel. I guess only one way to find out is tomorrow.

Could be something as simple as a vacuum leak. Would explain it being lean.

Where would I check for something like that? Will it throw a lean code or anything?

Also would that cause hard starting issues?

So I'm getting a lean code and EVAP code. Tech said fuel pressure was only at 20. They're going to pull the fuel tank and check the fuel system and see what the problem is.

Sounds like the dealer is on top of it. Sucks when this stuff happens away from home base. Let us know what they find.
