I've been messing with this stupid bully dog update agent for the past 30 min. I've done the install but nothing is coming up on the select device screen. Not sure what im doing wrong

 

SC is installed, but couldnt get the BD to work. It initializes and after that just says error when trying to select make and model.
Edit: and of course no tech aupport on weekends so I am SOL till monday

 

And I'm over here messing with the update agent and can't get it installed correctly on my computer. When I could be doing my SC install.

 

If I remember correctly this is how mine went:

Don't even use the USB dongle.
First put the card in the tuner.
Connect tuner to computer.
Install update software (40480)
Restart tuner and select truck type
Plug tuner into truck.
Tell tuner what tunes you want.
Go back to computer to download tunes
Go back to truck and select "install download"

Let me try the update agent on mine. I just got home a few min ago and looking over the paperwork for it.

 

Mine is giving me a prompt for F:\BDCARD, GT Magnuson. I wonder if your SD card is bad. Do you have another one you can test with? Or a different SD adapter?

 

Hmm. I've tried two different computers with no luck. I'll try another adapter.

 

Will the tuner be compatible with macs? I don't have a PC

 

My computer is not reading the SD card. I wonder if its faulty? Well now im not sure if i want to do the install this weekend.

 

I had an extra SD card in my computer desk. When I tried using the supplied SD, it said version 2.1.5.1 was installed. When I tried updating, it said same version even after refreshing or shutting down the app and restarting. When I took the fresh SD thats mine and put it in, it installed version 2.1.6.2. Not sure if that helped, but I am going to try hooking up the bd later and see if the error message goes away.

 

i cant get the update agent to read SD card. ill have to hold off on install until i can figure this out with tech support

 

Those of you who haven't started the install yet. I'd suggest going ahead and picking up a new serpentine belt to replace it while you have everything off. The s/c tensioner covers that. So if you're replacing any belts, the s/c tensioner has to be removed.

 

That paint dab is likely torque seal.

Also. The instructions mention draining the engine block of coolant. I skipped that. My coolant is fine and draining the block would likely result in a nice mess.

 

i got this a few times and solved it by doing the pull the sd card in and out and reboot the machine routine. ultimately the software worked.
