The awning is no problem you can just bolt it right to the slots in the side of the rack with some spacers. I will have info on this in the How to thread shortly. I haven't tested the new T4R racks with lightbars yet. They are close to the same as tacomas but you never know if extra noise is going to come from it.

I haven't every really tried it. The crossbars take quite a bit of abuse so anything you coat them with gets beat up. The anodize finish is a chemical treatment that actually penetrates the aluminum so it is the best thing. The black and clear are equal in protection, its just the color that is different. Powdercoating clogs the slots if it isn't done well.

That looks great. The black side pieces with the clear-coat cross bars work really well with the lighter colored truck.

@zscott I am 100% in if you are able to make the Accessrac for the 2016. Sorry if this has already been answered and thanks for the info!

It should be the same but I have no way to guarantee it until I find a local access cab to test on.

I thought I jumped in yesterday but I'm not seeing my name on the list. I need a 3/4 rack for a 5th Gen 4Runner. Black texture coat.

The Thule rails come with flare nuts - doesn't seem like they'd hold in the fiberglass roof of the shell. Do folks generally bolt through the roof with a rail (aluminum strap) or nuts on the inside? And what is the optimal distance between the rails for TopRac mounting?

You can get the Thule tracks with either flare nuts or through bolts. The flare nuts are for sheet metal roofs on vehicles and the bolts are for camper shells or other surfaces where you can access the backside of the mounting surface.

    UPDATE

Working with the laser cutter now and I should be able to have all the parts ready before the group buy is over. To help with this I would like to get numbers dialed in as close as possible.

If you have replied to the thread that you are interested please edit your original post to include what you plan to order and whether you are for sure a yes or still deciding.

This will help me get as close as possible to quantities needed so we aren't having as long of wait times.

Thanks, I only found the 60" rail with through-bolts. Should be easy enough to source nuts and bolts of appropriate length.

I edited my post with my order Zach.

I think we might be able to get away with the side rails in a standard thickness, but I'll leave that up to you to decide. We can talk more about the custom order as time approaches.
