If we can find a way to ship to Hawaii, which I know is not impossible and I am willing to pay extra for, then I am definitely in for a 128gb 2 channel.

So there is a removable SD card? Any reason to buy the larger gig models if I already have memory cards layingnaround?

Also can the rear cam be added later down the road if buying the front for now. Are accessories like the hard wire kit included as well.

    A thing or two...
This pretty much covers the questions I had. If there is no difference between the 16GB model and 128GB model (other than the included SD card), there is no point to ordering the larger model, especially when the MSRP difference is $120, and you can buy a 128GB microSD card for $30-40.

I doubt the hardwire kit is included since it isn't normally included. If we could get those at a discount as well through the GB that would be nice.

I'm mildly interested as I've been thinking more and more about getting dash cam(s) for the car and truck.

you cannot purchase a 1 channel and then add a second camera.

    its a software/hardware difference

Per the specs, the max memory on the camera is 128GB. That being said, no real difference in memory sizes if you already have SD cards at home.

Here's an informative video on choosing the correct SD Card.

Hardwire kit is not included, only the plug to the cigarette power point.

The hardwire kit is available as an add on

    Ok, thanks.

Just to clarify regarding the different price points for bigger Blackvue branded sd cards. There's no difference other than the size of the included SD card? A quick Google shows that non-Blackvue branded cards may or may not work the same in the cameras, not sure if that's just Blackvue marketing or if there's a technical reason the BV cards cost more than other well known manufactures similarly sized cards.

that is correct. its just the memory card difference.

    in regards to blackvue marketing:

    Yes and No.

Yes - They want you to buy their cards.

No - Not all SD cards work with dash cams.

the youtube video i posted above explains why and which ones to buy for Dashcams

Anyone know how long that cable to the rear camera is? Basically wondering if it can reach the back of my camper

I have a blackvue, i would recommend purchasing the larger gig memory card with the camera. I figured i would save money and bought a separate memory card, did plenty of research and found what I thought would work according to a view non-blackvue videos and just bought the 16 GB memory card model and i could not get the camera to record anything. popped the supplied memory card in and started recording perfectly. i am unsure on adding the rear at a later date as i bought the kit. the camera comes ready to install with a supplied 12v cigarette lighter plug. to hard wire i would recommend buying the power management system thats like 30 bucks. it allows you to record with the truck off for a certain set time, or a set battery voltage.

i don't think mine was long enough to reach the back of a camper shell, i had about 3-4 feet left that i zipped tied up it looks like its just a cable with a headphone size plug on each end so you may be able to get a long enough one, however it may not communicate properly.
